I'm still searching for a potential revolver.

In the meanwhile, does anyone have any experience with the new S&W Model 327 M&P R8? I'm also looking at the Model 325 (.45 acp), or maybe a model 25.

Why do I want a revolver?
-Simplicity
-Reliability
-Reloading
-Ammo versatility
-Sexy factor

I have a lot of trouble shooting magnums because they hurt my ears and the flash is disorienting, but with a .460 SW Mag or a .357 Mag, I can shoot 45 long colt or .38 specials but have the option to go bigger.

I would really like a non-ported .460 SW Mag to shoot .45 long colts out of (but again have the option for 454 casull or 460 sw mag) but all of S&W .460 revolvers are ported except the 2 3/4" bear defense gun.

Anyone have any input.... I know I already put up one post but I'm kind of narrowing the field down at this point.

I just can't pick a caliber....
is 44 mag or 45 long colt louder than .357 mag? Recoil isn't hard on me if it's heavy, but if it's loud and there is a huge muzzle flash I have trouble shooting.... but I want something that could take down a small grizzly bear if need be (simply because the biggst caliber I have is .45 ACP) right now.

If .45 ACP is sufficient for protection out in the most dangerous places on earth, then the S&W 325 might be my pick. I already have autos that take it so I have plenty of brass to reload, and I know I can handle the recoil. I also have two inherited revolvers that are .357, but I only shoot 38's out of them because I just can't handle the muzzle flash and noise of the .357. I am "noise sensitive."

I've never shot a 44 mag, but have heard that while they recoil more the noise and flash is less. What about 454 casull and 45 long colt?

I have the 327TRR8 which is basically the same as the M&P except it has removable rails. I will say this, it takes quite some getting used to firing magnum out of a scandium frame. I'm finding I have to relearn how to shoot effectively and with tighter control than I did with a heavier weight revolver. I like it a LOT though. It came with the 8-shot moon clips, and takes them fast and easy like slapping in a magazine. There's no porting, which is how I prefer it, but I can see how it might make a difference on a light frame like this one. I understand S&W can do that for you upon request. As far as "cool factor".... I dunno, as some folks think the 327 is fugly, but I happen to think it's gorgeous and has a sort of new meets old look to it that speaks to me. YMMV. *shrug* All in all, I'd say either go for the 327 or maybe try out the 325 Thunder Ranch for 45 ACP.
