Sorry to hear that!

Hey look on the bright side; it's only money and not worth at that much anyways thanks to inflation!

I have been trying for months to get one of the Springfield pistols without luck. It's even longer now that the first post I made about not being able to find one. My local dealer said they are not shipping due to a problem they need go work out. I never heard of a problem before so I'm doubting that. This is a very big dealer too.

My Dad just got his today. I am awaiting a range report from him.
He had a Luftwaffe issued P-35 years ago, it was a super accurate 9mm. The only 9mm I've shot that was more accurate was a CZ Shadow2.

I’ve heard of finish and extraction issues from two differing sources. I’m holding out hope as I want one.

The finish isn't the greatest, and it comes with one magazine. They had to cut costs somewhere. The fitting is very good, everything inside is clean. Smooth as glass slide on the frame. I actually have two SA-35s now, though one is going away. Had my name in for one at a local shop before I found one elsewhere.

I was at my dad’s today and he said to get busy transferring (meaning ownership) and brought out his Browning. There is a lot of interest these days in the SA35 and High Powers in general.

And then came out the Gold Cup.
Are those factory grips? I'd love to have a pair for my MkIII, real wood with the Browning name and logo. Very nice.

LGS ended up getting 2 of them. One went home with me. Honestly - I think I got one that missed the QC. It really didn't match the quality the reviews gave it. The trigger was OK though. Lighter than my BHP practical, but also crunchier. Nowhere near the 4# I kept hearing about. closer to 6. accuracy was OK, but I just couldn't get with the U notch for the rear sight. not my thing. Researched replacing the rear sight - but my buddy was gushing all over it so he owns it now. The trigger did clean up after a few hundred rounds and a little bit of polishing on the hammer and sear. He also tried some wolf springs since those parts are a perfect copy of a BHP. Think the 24 or 26# hammer and a very slightly stronger recoil spring was where things ended up at. (I think - I didn't keep up with him on it) It's actually a nice trigger now. Think it's just under 5. Still hate the U in the rear sight.

But that's my .02 not disparaging the gun at all. Just my observations. think I just got one that was rushed a bit. I'm sure if I had sent it in it would be perfect.

It's probably nicer than my practical and seems every bit as accurate. Trigger is certainly better than mine is and I have removed the disconnect and have a cylinder and slide hammer/sear/spring set in it.

This is where you are going to run into a problem. The front dovetail does not match any other existing sights. The dimensions are larger than Novak’s. The rear is worse than the front. It is similar to the Tisas which also won’t accept aftermarket sights.

Let us know if you find something that works
If the SA35 sells as well as we hope I expect that it will just be a matter of time before Dawson offers sights for it.

I just got an email today from the shop I have been talking about. They told me they just got 1 of the SA-35s in today's delivery. The problem is they quoted me a price of $875 + tax. I really don't want to spend $176 over the MSRP. I might feel differently tomorrow if it's still there.

I admit to being a very long time fan of the Hi Powers and I hope the Springfield SA-35 turns out to be a good gun, especially since I recently sprung for one. I doubt I have more than about 300 rounds through mine at this point. But in testing several types of ammo, RN, flat point, JHP, etc., mine has not malfunctioned. I've tried the factory, FN/Browning and MecGar 13 and 15 round magazines in mine. Doesn't seem to matter which, no issues at all. Sights, extended safety, etc. are the kinds of things I did to more than one of my T-Series Hi Powers back in the day. So I was glad Springfield was rather conservative about what changes they made to the traditional Hi Power design. I realize mine is a sample size of just one, but so far, so good.

Had the opportunity to shoot one a few weeks ago. Very impressive. Great grip feel, low recoil, nice trigger. Had one FTE, but these were hand loads so maybe that caused it. For a reasonable price I'd be interested.

FN reintroduced the Hi-Power at shot show, both classic and modernized.

I've only seen the FN "modernized" versions - blue, stainless, and FDE. Do you have a link to the classic? I didn't much care for the modernized versions.

That FN in FDE looks interesting! The FDE grip panels would be pretty nice color scheme on black HP's.

Saw this on Dillon’s Instagram account.

Likely just hard chromed or a coating, or maybe it’s just the angle of the lighting but it looks like a stainless steel.

If SA ever comes out with a SS version I’m all in

Based on the shape of the trigger, the front strap, and the beavertail, I'd wager money that this SA-35 came out of MKIII Firearms shop. Most of their in shop finishing work is Cerakote, and they seem to do it very well.

Check them out on YouTube.

I like mine! Paid a little under $1000 for mine on GB. Springfield did a good job on this one. Well fit. Reliable. Accurate with a variety of ammo. Good sights and trigger pull. No hammer bite and good safety. And way less than Browning could make one for. I bet the folks at Browning were sitting there saying *** when the demand for the Springfield took off like a rocket!

It is MKIII it is on their FB page. https://www.facebook.com/mk3firearms/

In my research I have heard inconsistent things about the shop. I considered using them at one point but chose to go elsewhere. 99% sure is it is Cerakote. They did a nice job on the rear sight. Gives one hope that you can swap the rear and front sights.

Got one from a local shop; paid above MSRP. Really happy with mine; the trigger was lighter than my other HPs, it sometimes had some creep...took it apart and polished things a little.
Mine has been nearly 100% on my 1100'sec reloads; one failure to extract is the only issue. It is nicely finished, inside and out, and well fit.
The matte finish is evenly applied, but matte it is.

Last week I threw a bid in on one on Gunbroker ($804) and was surprised that I won. It came in today, and I had a chance to clean it and shoot it. I'm pretty impressed with it. The finish on it is good and everything I saw when I took it apart to clean it seemed to be solid. I put a little over 200 rounds through it shooting my reloads. I had 3 occurrences where the brass didn't eject completely on the last round of a magazine, with the brass sitting loosely on top of the magazine. The gun is tight and my reloads are in the mid to low/mid range power wise, so I'll see if that stops once it's broken in a little more. The only thing I'd like to change is the heaviness of the trigger, which when new was 7 pounds. After shooting it, it dropped down to 6 1/2 pounds and I hope it continues to get a little lighter with use.
