In the interest of replacement parts compatability, would it be okay (safe & functional) to use the 9mm size firing pin commonly found in the Springfield 1911's in a Kimber that uses the standard .45 size pin?
Or would I be better off boring out the firing pin hole in the SA slide to work with the standard diameter pin?
ETA:
Both guns are .45, SA used the thinner 9mm fp with the corresponding smaller hole in their .45 slides.
