I recently picked up a Savage 10ML-II for this hunting season. If you're not familiar with it, its a muzzleloader designed to shoot regular smokeless powder. I need to get it sighted in and get comfortable with it before muzzleloading season starts, which brings me to my dilema. I expect to fire 20-25 shots with it, perhaps more to get it sighted in and develop the right load with it. My only powder measure is set up in my reloading press and I don't want to drag the whole thing to the range. What I'd like to do is pre-measure powder in different loads from 38-42 gr, label them, and take them with me. They make special tubes for carrying blackpowder loads to the field for reloading, however these are like $8 for 3-4 of them. 20-25 plus would obviously not be worth it. I was thinking I could get some 1/4 or 1/2 inch diameter PVC pipe with endcaps and make my own. Is that safe, or could static electricity from the pvc turn my powder holders into mini pipe-bombs?
Sorry, I just figured the reloading section was more appropriate for this than blackpowder given the type of powder I'm using (Vihtavuori N110).
Thanks,
b
