Anyone know what the hell happened to these guns? All I can find are 2 year old posts talking about how awesome and cheap they are (<$600). I love the look of the wooden thumbhole stock, and the fact the FCG is up near the magazine well instead of back at the end of the receiver means it doesn't suffer from the typical soggy linkage trigger that most Saigas have. I have the 7.62X39 in the same configuration, but was looking for a good, autoloading, inexpensive .308 rifle. Anyone with a bead on one I'd love to hear about it.

Never actually seen one other than on the internet. Cheap 308? The standard Saigas in 308 are around $650 from Atlantic Firearms. Add ~$120 to 150 to convert it yourself...

Good Luck

The reason I want that specific model is that I won't have to pay to have the FCG moved. Not sure I'm going to do a full 922r compliance mod to it, but rather keep to low cap mags and use it as a hunting rifle. And the historical prices of the gun are around $600, with people claiming cheaper prices at times.

I have three Saigas, one being a 308. I found the 308 nearly impossible to shoot because the trigger was so long and inconsistent with let off. In fact it sat for the last 6 or 7 years because I couldn't stand to shoot it. My 762x39 was kept stock and has a decent trigger, but the 308 had to be converted. Once done however it has a very nice trigger and it quite fun and easy to shoot.

Here's a link to the Saiga 308 models. I've heard of the long and inconsistent trigger pull problem, but the models 21, 32, 44,45, and 47 appear to have the trigger in the proper place, ie, right behind the magazine release. I really like the look of the wooden thumbhole stock, but I can't find any of the forementioned models ANYWHERE.

That's because our .gov doesn't allow them to be imported in that configuration, the link you're using for reference is a Russian website.

Wow, there it is, scope and all. Wasn't there last time I looked, thanks for the help, I feel a bit useless in my googling skills.
