I saw a used stainless SAKO .300 Win Mag in a shop today. It was in excellent condition, looking to have been fired very little. It had a wood stock that didn't look very good to me. It was just that the wood was a dull, plain brown and the checkering looked pressed. Kind of cheap looking. (It was a SAKO factory stock, though.)

The action was SMOOTH. Felt great. Detachable magazine. Had "AII" (I think) on the receiver. Imported by Stoeger.

Can anyone tell me about this rifle? What model is it? The shop wanted $829 for it. Is that a good price?

I don't know what I would do with a .300 Win Mag, but the rifle was so smooth...

I bought a NIB stainless/wood Sako 75 .338 just last weekend for $849---it had been sitting there on the rack for a year or two---so they were looking to get rid of it.

Your dealer might have some wiggle room to come down---depending on how much they paid for it. If you have cash in hand and are serious about getting the rifle--I can see them coming down a bit.

But no way am I getting a used rifle when $20 bucks more gets me a brand new one---$829 in not a good deal as far as I'm concerned.
