Same Caliber, Different Rifle Question

Took some measurements tonight of my new rifle compared to my old rifle. The amount of distance to ogive is about the same between Savage Axis and my new Rem 700.

Rem 700 max ogive measurement was 2.3500, my current load measurement to ogive is 2.2200, which puts me .1300" off the lands and grooves. Yes that's not a typo, it's .1300 off the LNG.

Actually in my Savage, the reason I went with the OAL I did, was because it put me approx .05 off. So the distance in the Rem 700 is actually greater than it was with the Savage. Shouldn't that actually lower the pressure since I'm further off?

Thoughts....

Update:

Went and shot the new rifle this morning, oh man did it shoot great. Shot a minor workup, and it shot best at the same load I had before with zero high pressure signs.

Great news is, it shot more consistent. Groups, MV were both more consistent.

My MV went from 2625 with a 175gr SMK, up to 2740 with the same load. I should have zero issues reaching the 1000yd mark and staying supersonic.
