San Fransisco's last gun shop closes

giggity, you forgot The Streets of San Francisco, and of course Dirty Harry.

It is sad, and they could certainly sue the city and should win. The problem is that the city has plenty of lawyers and deep pockets that could draw out a case for years, in all likelihood bankrupting the owners.

It sucks for the people that live there, but it helps the rest of us. It gives us an example we can cite - with actual statistical evidence - that new gun laws don't do anything to reduce crime.

That's nothing: it's my opinion that half a dozen states are just a couple of liberal representatives away (in the state legislation) from passing a 10 round magazine capacity.
Be ready to kiss your standard capacity mags adios!

There were four gun stores (not including pawn shops) when I grew up there. Now there are none. Such is progress under the progressives who will not allow you to defend yourself. When I left SF, a SFPD officer could be struck by a perpetrator and the district attorney wouldn't press charges. Why? Because the jury would side with the criminal. Little wonder why crime is up there.

Two different times in the late 60`s and early 70`s. I stood at the ticket counter of the San Fransisco`s Airport trying to buy a ticket home to Joplin Mo to be with my family after a long absent`s . Wiping spit off of Me and my Uniform, along with the other GI`s I rode from Viet Nam with, put there by those wonderfull people that lived in San Fransisco. It must have been, great sport for them, and they must have been having a wonderfull time. With all laughing and all the NASTY name calling thoes wonderfull people from San Fransisco were doing to us. Along with all the Pictures and Movies they took of us walking thru them in that parking lot , and receveing their wonderfull welcome. All the while we just wanted to get inside the terminal, so their unique welcome home would stop. I have never forgotten or forgiven them for this. So I don`t much care if any bad things happen to thoes wonderfull people from San Fransisco. I still to this day do not under stand, why they thought they had the right to do that to us. And why didn`t someone, anyone put a stop to it.

I had bought a number of items over the years there. The folks behind the counter were nice. It's a shame to see it go. One town over in Daly City (just shouts of San Francisco), someone I know was trying to open a gunsmith store and the antis came out in full force resulting in Daly City not letting the business open.

This is a real shame. Over the years I worked with Lauren on the importation of over a dozen of my firearms. I'll miss her.

After I read this on a few other forums, I did an internet search for "Gun Stores" and "pawn Shops", "San Francisco". I don't think folks in that area will have trouble buying guns.

cpt-t - the same thing happened to my uncle's friend who had just returned from Vietnam. He was going to the Federal building when some hippie spat on him. When he came to his senses, the Feds were cleaning him up. He had a bunch of blood on him and it wasn't his.

Another city on LeonCarr's Never Visit Or Spend Money There Because They Have Forgotten The Constitution List.

Just my .02,

That's terrible. I've never understood that kind of treatment of soldiers then.

Thank you for your service.

I didn't see anyone mention the opportunity cost of keeping that shop open -- which used to make its money shipping nice sporting arms to places like Japan.

I suspect that small piece of real estate in the Mission District will rent for more than $5K/month. I have no idea how a small local gun shop could cover that.
