Wow! I didn't see this coming! A Staccato 2011-P DOU. This is a bit embarrassing but what does the "DUO" stand for? Next is a dot. I was watching the "Honest Outlaw" review the gun. He had a Delta point pro with a 1 MOA. I can't seem to find that. I would really like to put a 1 MOA on this gun and keep it in standing with the overall awesomeness of this gun. Also a light/laser would look great on the rail. Ideas? Last got to put the first 20 rounds through it before light became an issue. WOW! Just love that steel frame! Thing practically shoots itself! {She must love me cuz there was noooo way I was that good!}

It's actually a polymer grip, alloy frame w/ steel slide. :) Duo is the double stack model C2. DPO means optic ready in Staccato speak.

Leupold doesn't make a 1 MOA DeltaPoint, 2.5 is the smallest, but they're really nice red dots.

You sure you want a 1 MOA dot on a pistol? Most people go with a larger dot. 3 moa or bigger. A 1 MOA dot could make you slower to get back on target after the 1st shot...
That's interesting. First time to hear that. It makes sense. I think I'll practice with one of my Holson's that have the circle and dot for speed with and without. I guess that should emulate what you're talking about. I do want this guy to be my car gun. so your advice is quite sage. Thanks. I still want to try the 1MOA. Perhaps what I was after was tighter groups at longer distance. That's definitely not the rationale to use for a car gun. Glad you took the time to respond.

The last time I was Jonesing for an STI, STI made STI. Over $2k for a gun was a fun search criteria during the NRA show in Atlanta a few years back. Now I got one, more or less. Got 20 rounds down it and it definitely shoots a whole lot different than most everything in my collection of ever expanding 9's. Thanks for the pics! Nice!

Watch sage dynamics YouTube videos on this subject. He’s a pretty informed authority on red dots for defensive/duty use and he’s a fan of the 1MOA dot. It will accentuate your tremor and it may seem weird for a while but if you’re used to it it’s no slower than a larger dot and is much more precise when needed. I like my 3.25 MOA dot but I have a smaller one on my 22 competition gun and it’s no slower for me. Try one out if you can before you buy.

Am jealous, all I got is a couple of shirts and I said no clothes.

I would also look at color of the dot as well.
For me green is way easier to see especially when outside.

Not a youtube review watcher.. I prefer 1st hand experience. I own both and I prefer the larger window of the DPP vs smaller window and dot of the RMR.

That said it will be 100% up to the individual user. With exception of the fact that 1MOA will cover less of the target at ranges.

When we switch out the targets for "Bad guy" targets" and set up shooting scenarios, the larger window always wins. I'm sure there are plenty of times where a larger window is not wanted but for my uses, I think that's the way to go. I don't have a way to play with a 1 MOA without buying it. And I've got plenty of stuff I've outgrown that I wish I could have the money back. It seems that the issue used to be "flair" and I don't recall the last time I heard of it being an issue. I picked up one of my old dots and it looks like a comet coming to destroy the earth. And, I pick up my old EO and thought they must have gotten rid of the "electrographic haze?" Nope. I'm not in any circumstance or training to believe I need more than what Holosun provides. It's looking like i'm making a circle and coming back to where I started. Oh well, I really like Holosun. Thanks Guys!

Both optics above are great. Mind the different “footprint” as you’ll need to buy a plate for whichever one you go with…and the plates are not cheap.

I’ve been running Swamp Fox on my guns for a while. They are a vet owned company in CO. This is the Liberty model. The Justice is similar with a larger window. Both use the RMR footprint

Flair is attributed to people with a astigmatism.

(I have one, so all red dots flair. while holographics like Eotech, holosun, etc are fine.

One thing that will help you pick your accessories, is start with the holster. Find a holster you like, and see what they can fit. There is no sense getting a light or an optic you really like, and can't find a holster you can carry your setup in. The company I have used for years is WhiteHat. They have a wide selection of firearm and light combos. They mold their "optic hood" off a larger, convex body optic. So things like the RMR, Deltapoint, and Holosuns fit.

I like Red Hill Tactical, they are a semi-custom holster maker, well know in the gun game world. They can make a holster for just about any setup you need and their customer service is GREAT! I have 6 of their holsters

Agreed. I have 2 of them, and a mix of other optics (Sig, Holosun, Vortex). All 2.5-3 MOA. For competition/range use, the SRO is great. It's too big for a carry gun, though, at least IMO.
I find the SRO carry’s great, I carry it both IWB and OWB. I’ve had it on for 2 years now.

I'm sure it would work well for carry as far as the mechanics of it. But it's pretty frail compared to most optics that are intended for duty or EDC.

I carried it for 2 years without any issues except lint on the screen. Not a war fighter or anything. My carry philosophy is, carry a cool gun that you can shoot well

Hey thanks, sage advice. This guy is gonna ride "shotgun" in my car. I have a setup in my truck and really like everything about how it came out. I like the guys who "AR" the roof of their trucks.
