Let me open by saying these are Turkish made CZ75 clones in polymer , all chrome polished barrel and guide rod , double spring ... but before you elitist walk away based on the country of origin lets learn something about its maker ...

Sarsilmaz who makes this Sar ( imported by EAA ) has been making firearms since 1880 and is Nato's single largest supplier of small arms , they outfit the Turkish Military so this is not some fly by night here today gone tomorrow company we are talking about

High quality build at a bargain basement price considering what you are getting for the money ....

on tear down its easy to see the quality , has a great feel in the hand and I have large hands ( wear a size 13 wedding band if that is any indication ) I am a bigger guy 6'1" 250 for reference ..

the fit and finish is quite good ( not superb ) but I mark it down a little in the looks department for what I consider extreme badging ( name is all over this thing ) but I do not discount it based on that aspect because holstered they hide well and at the end of the day looks simply are not all that important to me because I am looking for functionality , reliability and deadly accuracy ... and for those purposed this gun delivers right out of the box ..

I have both the B6P and the B6P compact , I bought the compact for carry and liked it so well I went and pulled the proverbial trigger on the full size for home defense ...

enough of the background on to the testing ...

I put roughly 2500 rounds through both of these and have exactly ZERO hickups ... this is a gun I would stake my life on , I know when I unholster it take aim and lower the hammer down it is going to fire and I am going to be able to put softball size groups in quick fire mode with any ammo you run through it Including tull ammo ...

some will not like that the slide is an internal one thus a little slimmer and tougher to grip to rack but this should really never be an issue for defensive carry as one should be carrying with a live round already in the chamber ....

there are advantages to the internal slide however , first the gun is a little slimmer at the top of the action and secondly it gives full contact with the frame lending to greater accuracy instead of how the internal slides only have small points of contact ...

it is single action / double action so you have the option of pulling the hammer back for that first shot or the lengthy pull of the first shot in double action mode ... it is a LONG stroke , and some have complained about that but it has a crisp break which I like ...

it does not have a decocker but has a pin block safety ( a little tight out of the box but with a little lube and 15 mins of working it back and forth she broke right in )

No I do not work for the company but reading this back I must sound as if I do ... I just LOVE these firearms and at the price point I picked mine up at I say they are the absolute best bang for the buck and have no close second ...

I am 52 years old and have been shooting since I was 6 years old with my recently departed Father , we are hunting and shooting enthusiasts and I felt compelled to share this wonderful little bargain ...

Oh I forgot to mention the price and the 1 draw back I have found ...

300 bucks out the door at my local gun shop !! that drawback you ask , well it comes with just 1 magazine but at this price point for this much quality I can snag a couple mags and still have a fantastic buy ( CZ75B mags work flawlessly and can be had in the 19 round version for 30 bucks online 25 for the 17 rounders )

note in the pic the B6P compact is stippled ( I did that for improved grip in extreme weather conditions ) since it is my carry gun I want to leave nothing to chance if my life depends on it

Thanks for the review.

I've been watching the prices on these and if they go on sale again for $241 with ≤ $10.00 shipping I plan to pick one up.

You may just want to grab one now if that interested , word is EAA is no longer the importer ( contract issue with Sar ) another company acquired importation rights and to this point have done next to nothing to actually get rolling ..

MY LGS is out of them and can not get any more from their supplier so online is my only alternative and I am not sure how comfortable I am with that process even though their is a boatload of solid backing for multiple online suppliers , I like the assurance if I have an issue with a purchase I can drive to the shop and get it resolved instead if mailing it in somewhere and it is out of my control and care yet in my name ...

I have found them online for 250-260 within the last week ...

Looking for the Kp2 model now ...

scratch that , found this today while searching http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=65588.0

Who will be sarsilmaz's importer? I have been waiting on one of their new .357 revolvers to hit the US market.

Its a move SAR has to make. EAA is committed to importing Tanfoglio products and many of the SAR products compete directly with Tanfoglio's guns EAA was not going to import SAR's whole line.

If SAR can get an importer going here, we'll see their full line of guns, including their $258.00 357 Magnum revolver:

I have this pistol too and share your positive comments . It is a great gun for the money. EAA still imports this pistol , the other company here in Florida did not pick it up and EAA has it back again on their web site.

I have a SAR K2P 9mm. Was in LGS earlier this year and he had one. Felt so good in the hand and I liked the way it was made so it came home with me. Didn't quibble over $350 otd price. Good shooter, never any malfunctions. Just noticed today that slide and frame have matching serial nrs.

it is single action / double action so you have the option of pulling the hammer back for that first shot or the lengthy pull of the first shot in double action mode

SAR makes 2 versions of the B6P - an SA/DA version and a SAO version and SAR doesn't distinguish between the two with different model numbers.

What is the consensuses on the SAR B6p vs the EAA/Tang Witness Polymer?

They look very similar....
I have a sar compact and a witness small frame 9mm. They are very similar. The slides are interchangeable. I like the sights better on the sar. I like the grip better on the witness. The rear of the grip on the witness by the beavertail is smooth. On the sar there is ridge on both sides of the grip in the same area. When I shoot thumbs forward that ridge tends to dig into my hand. Overall they are both very good guns.

Great! Thanks for those comments on the Witness vs B6P. I need to decide which on to roll the dice with now...

Do you have an opinion of the in-person appearance? Seems like the SAR has more words and such on the grip...

The writing doesn't really bother me on the Sar. One other thing on the slides, the Sar slide is a little narrower so it is a little harder to grip than on the witness.

I like the narrower slide personally , slightly more comfortable carry ..

racking the slide is not an issue for me , nor should it be for anyone really I see many making a big deal of it when its not a big deal just grasp it and rack it back a 10 year old can do it ( not that I advise you let a 10 year old do it )

If using for carry it should be racked back at home and the hammer lowered before it is holstered anyways ( unless you carry cocked and locked but I do not ) , if in some extremely rare and unfortunate situation did occur where you had to reload the slide stays open after the last round anyways , drop the mag and insert a new pre loaded one ... but lets face it most people never have to unholster let alone reload as those situations are so few and far between I am not sure its even mathematically configurable ...

don't over complicate things .. its a simple procedure that my LARGE arthritic hands ( remember I wear a size 13 1/2 wedding band ) can accomplish without issue , then I am nearly certain anyone can rack this slide without issue if they simply pay attention ( you should be paying attention anyways with a loaded gun in your hand )

I am a keep it simple kind of guy , I hate to see people over complicate things that do not need to be over complicated ...

society seems to want everything done for them automatically , sometimes you just have to do things ( and think ) for yourself , and you SHOULD be thinking when handling a fire arm ...don't over complicate a simple procedure ..

if you are so weak you have difficulty with this slide chances are you should not be shooting anything stronger than a BB Gun anyways as the recoil will be to substantial if your grip is this poor ...

sorry if I sound bitter but some of this stuff is just silly nit picking that should have zero bearing if we where not such a spoiled lazy society

Wow how do you really feel? I was just responding to differences in the two guns. As for BB guns I'll pass. I was busy shooting a steel match in Tucson Sunday.

sorry for " keeping it real" but it was not directed towards you anyways , but what you said did remind me of many others across the net that hit on that issue in one manner or another ..

its just not a big deal ( or shouldn't be anyways ) its not like you need a pair of pliers to rack the slide like some may make you think ..

I stand by what I said , we are a soft and spoiled Nation

Purchased the SAR B6P SA/DA

Well these just went on sale at Sportsman's Guide so I picked one up for $241.23 - out the door. I got free shipping. I was willing to pay $241 + $10 for shipping so I'm happy with this deal.

They didn't have the SAO model which I really wanted, they only have the SA/DA model. Does anyone know if the SA trigger on the SA/DA model is as nice as the SAO trigger?

I didn't know they even made the Sar single action only. I will say the trigger on my sar compact is good. It has very little take up single action and a short reset. The double action is kind of heavy though.

Not only that, but if you're a SG club member you can choose to pay in four monthly installments and take it home for about $60 up front.

I have to disagree with this statement. Clearing malfunctions COULD be a life or death procedure and one should be proficient at cycling the slide.

Just my .02.

I think the problem with racking it overhand is that too much of the palm of your hand is against the frame and your fingertips end up grabbing frame also. Some people probably have to dexterity to rack the frame overhand, but it is probably easier to sling-shot it.

Of course some people do not have the grip / pincher strength in their hands to sling-slot a slide and that's why they do it overhand.

Not all guns are for all people.
