Need some help i searched for this on the forum but have not found a answer. I recently bought a savage 10 .308. But i cant find any info on it. It has a synthetic stock 24" heavy barrel it is a short action the barrel nut is not smooth and is stamped model 10 not 110. The bolt surface is black and says Savage Tactic... not tactical just tactic anyone know what this is or specs on it the stock is not back boned so i assume its not an accu stock but im wondering if its an accu trigger im not sure how to tell.

AccuTrigger has a blade in the center, similar to a Glock trigger, but much more pronounced, and silver.

The stock, AccuStock or not, is going to be rather flimsy, so I'd plan on replacing anyway.

As for "Savage Tactic", I have no idea what that's about. If it's used, it could have said "tactical", and the "al" just wore off.

Yeah i was looking at a overmold with alum backbone my trigger has no blade so ill look for a trigger too any suggestions? And as far as it wareing off its possible i guess but if this guns been fired its not been much as there are no other marks on tge bokt and the finish isnt even gone in tge screw holes for the scope mounts... ill get some more pictures when i get home to see what yall think. Thank you

@upon1cbr I'm not sure what you want... do you want to know the exact model of your rifle? Do you want to know what you can do to improve it? Do you want specific components identified?

What help do you need? The model 10 just means that it's a short action...any model with three digits IE 110 just means that it's built on a long action.

Not necessarily. It could be one of the models with a McMillan or HS Precision stock, though that's unlikely. A photo of the rifle would help.

Congratulations, you have the original Model 10 FP. Designed as a police marksman rifle at a competitive price ( I think mine cost about $300 new ), it makes a great target rifle. Assuming it wasn't worn out or abused, you should have no problem getting 10-round groups in the MOA range.

For the trigger upgrade you have Rifle Basix or Timney for about $100. For a heavy bench shooting stock look at the Choate Ultimate Varminter: the equipment snobs will tell you it's "junk" because it doesn't cost more than the rifle, but it has an aluminum spine and useful adjustment for LOP and comb height for a very affordable price.

Have fun with your new gun!

Thank you sir thats what i was looking for

I used to have one, it certainly is a 10 FP. The trigger is adjustable, should be plenty of google vid but use caution. Too light and it goes off when closing the bolt.

Very good rifle, basic and will keep up with any production < $1500 .308 out there.

I learned to reload with mine. It helped learn the value of bullet jump, micro metering, brass sorting, and match grade bullets. Sold mine to a friend, he won't sell it back.

Guess I'm alittle different when shopping for, not only guns but, any kinda merchandize. I'll find an item I might want, research it BEFORE I buy it instead if asking about it after I own it.

It could be, but I'd think if OP spent the money on a McMillian or HS Precision model, he'd know what he's getting (no intentions of sounding offensive there).

My fault for asking the guy i got it from just bought an AR10 and offered me this for $250 i figured any like new .308 savage was worth that so i jumped on it instead of waiting to do reaserch and letting a deal go as ive done in the past. As far as this forum goes thank you to everyone that helped those of you that want to troll me for asking questions im disapointed to know fire arms enthusiasts like you are still around in a day and age were we should be standing together as a supportive community and not one that pokes fun at each other and trys to make one another feel dumb... again i thank the ones that helped me out here and to the rest no worries I'll look for a new forum to assist me with any questions on my new project as i dont feel trial and error is the best way to accomplish a successful fire arms experience

I'd check to see what stock is on the rifle before I go swapping it out. Someone could have already swapped it for a good stock. I know I swapped a synthetic stock for the walnut stock on my 110. The old stock was warped so I bought a B&C stock and it's been great.

BTW the original 10 may sell for about that price all the time. I paid $225 for my 110 (with a scope) which is very similar to the 10. The length of the action is about the only difference. Mine shoots 30.06. My guess is you have a fine rifle though. I have no complaints with my 110.
