Savage 375 H&H scope & mount ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello men.
I am the proud owner of a Savage weather warrior in .375 H&H and just orderd a scope mount from B-Square # 15553 and was wondering about scope rings, which will be heavy duty enough, and which ones do I get low, medium or high? This is the scope I am gonna get for it. Any Info would he appreciated.

I might have two suggestions for Savage ring mounts that I have picked up from the SavageShooters.com web page.

This last week or so, I picked up a new Savage rifle too.

Here is a milled aluminum one piece mount-ring that has really had great testimonials.

On the high end get a Ken Farrell base and Burris z rings

One piece mount, steel rings, set it up level and loc-tite it.

Check the ring manufacturers guide for the lowest mount that will fit your rifle and objective lens.

The extended rings will allow you to mount the scope a bit more foreward, reducing the possibility of "scope-eye".

.375 H&H is a pretty heavy recoiling gun with the heavy bullets, I would go with steel rings and one peice base to start with. Split vertical rings a just about fool proof and then adding the solid one peice base makes it more so. Lapping the rings gives added "grip" on the scope.

This caliber is usually the starting point for a dangerous game rifle, and if used in such manner I would be sure the scope mount combo would not let me down.
