Today in my Cinematic Structure class we watched The Professionals by Richard Brooks, starring Lee Marvin, Jack Palance and Claudia Cardinale. People around me were complaining that we had to watch a western, but I was over joyed. It isn't like one of those westerns where a stranger walks into town, but it was more like The Wild Bunch, but with a happy ending. There's alot of gun play in the movie and alot of toys to drool over. There were Colt Single Actions, S&W Hand Ejectors, a Colt 1911, Winchester Lever Actions, Mausers, a Maxim, a 1903(I may be wrong on this one), a Lewis Gun, and my favorite the Winchester 97.
At the end of class our teacher told us that it was shot here in Nevada and the very end is shot next to the Sloan train tracks. I pass it everytime I go shooting in the desert, I think next time I'll have to stop and take it in.
