I'm basically in agreement with your analysis.

I despair that the current Big Mo can be reversed by ordinary political means. Maybe, but hard to envision given how far we've already come.

We are rapidly approaching that point at which people leave and start over somewhere else or forcibly expel those of unlike mind. Half the country is a lost cause politically; thinking we're going to convert them to our view is naive, thinking we're going to all "just get along" is also naive.

The middle class is still the largest voting bloc but as long as we allow our focus and power to be diluted by wedge issues we will continue to be political eunuchs. And that my friends is part of the strategy as well.
