Got a knife in the mail today from a promo company that will laser engrave your business name on the Blade.
Well made for what it is, but
420 steel
zytel scales (any color you want as long as it is black)
Half serrated 3 inch blade
pocket clip
Adjustable hex head pivot

$2.95 each if you buy 100 so minimum money is $295.00

Not a knife I would my name or business associated with.

I agree...

A fella needs to maintain his standards even in the face of thrift. I'd hold out for 421 0r better...

Todd.

I'd truat a cheap lockback long before a liner lock.

Do you mean to say I'm not the only guy who doesn't like/trust liner locks (at least on cheap knives)!!! Yay!!! I thought I was all alone here.

You're not alone. I even the liner lock fail the whack on the back of the blade test on an Emerson CQC-7. A Kershaw Injection is the first liner lock I've purchased in a few years: That was only because a local big box store had them on closeout for significantly less than Amazon so I got to handle it before buying, and I was looking for a lighter duty knife to wear with dress pants.

420hc is great, but I'm sure that's not the kind you got on that one. :D

The last 420 knife I bought was for sentimental value. I bought a jump knife at Ft Benning and it was stolen so I got another. Other than that I avoid 420 blades like they are plagued.

I have bought commemorative knives before. Laser engraving looks best on 1095 in my opinion.

Glad to hear!!! As popular as they seem to be, I kind of felt like a man alone on an island! I can't believe the number of knives with them that carry a hefty price tag! If I'm spending the better part of $100 on a knife, it's gonna have something solid like Benchmade's Axis lock, or an equivalent.

Some of the Chinese knives claim 420 steel, which is not 420HC used by say Buck which also does a very good heat treat. I would not want my business name on that knife. I might go for a real Vic SAK, but that would not be inexpensive at quantity.

Thought this was an anti-marijuana thread.
same, shame it's about cheap knives ;l

that said i carry these things like disposables. my spare px4 magazine constantly breaks the cheap knifes i buy, every couple months, by smashing them apart. gerber/kershaw/etc anything in the <$50 bigbox range gets its duty time and then ends up in pieces. the magazine on the other hand hasnt even worn its finish, despite completely destroying at-least a half dozen steel frame knives.

My experience with liner locks has been less than satisfactory. I generally avoid them.

Buck does a great job with 420hc, but it still is 420.

I stopped buying linerlocks some time ago. There are MUCH better mechanisms available.

Sounds like a lot like a knife that Uncle Wally's has on sale for $ 1.97.
The Ozark Trail offering is a lockback an it seems O.K. for hanging on the garden fence to use for gardening chores.
I bought a couple for friends that don't use a daily carry.
