I'm about to travel from GA to SC for a week. I know that SC won't honor my GA permit so carrying is out. But what about carrying in my car. And how can I carry in my car, in plain sight? in glove box?

I found the answers to my own questions. I looked in the THR Library and found that I can carry in my vehicle in SC as long as it is in a closed glove box or console. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated though.

If you are staying in a motel/hotel you may carry a loaded handgun from your vehicle to the hotel room so long as the rent and tax have been paid for the accommodation.
Licensed hunters and fisherman may also carry loaded handguns while engaged in hunting or fishing or going to and from such activities.
I hope you get to visit Charleston.
It's a beautiful place.

You can also buy beer on Sundays in SC :)

I was at school in Norfolk, VA for a few months and my family remained at Kings Bay, GA. Three of us used to haul a$$ to Kings Bay on the weekends. Sunday night we would head back and stop at the first place across the border in SC and all but the driver would get beer. Everybody but the driver would get all tanked up on the way back..... ahhh, the good 'ol days!

Sorry, I know, not firearm related.

We will be travelling from Savannah to Beaufort, SC. One obstacle I just thought of is that we will be staying in our RV at Hunting Island STATE PARK. Will that be a problem?

No problem. The only exception is rifles and shotguns must be unloaded in State Parks,Recreational areas and certain Wildlife Management Areas during hunting season and carried in commercial gun cases.
This should not affect you at this time of the year.Handguns are not affected at any time. For details:

I know there is one obscure law about having either a rifle or gun on or near waterways. Only allowed to have shotguns. Something about ricochets? Anyone know about this?
One exception is a CWP holder can have a loaded pistol in a boat.
