You don't want to dump too much information on a new shooter all at once because it tends to overwhelm and sometimes discourage them. But, should you decide to do some more research, these books would probably help:
THE FARNAM METHOD OF DEFENSIVE HANDGUNNING (new 2nd edition) by John. S. Farnam
IN THE GRAVEST EXTREME: THE ROLE OF THE FIREARM IN PERSONAL PROTECTION by Massad F. Ayoob (written in 1980 and needs to be updated, but still useful)
THE TRUTH ABOUT SELF PROTECTION by Massad F. Ayoob
(written in 1983 and needs to be updated, but still has much useful information)
ARMED RESPONSE by David S. Kenik
SURVIVAL SHOOTING FOR WOMEN by Tom Givens
DEFENSIVE USE OF FIREARMS by Stephen P. Wenger
DEFENSIVE HANDGUNNING: A TREATISE ON HANDGUN CARRY AND USE
By Glenn Rehberg
