So when watching the news today I see the police chief of the latest school shooting saying that the police responded how they were trained and brought a quick conclusion to a shooting spree. Essentially they did everything "right". While I will not question the police response in this, I do think this is a perfect illustration of the false notion that police can provide protection. This absurd notion continues to perpetuate itself despite multiple examples of just the opposite even when everything supposedly goes "right". That's why they are "law enforcement" and not "protective services". Anyhow...here's the link:

Makes me wonder if the teachers were allowed to to have CCW if as many students would have been shot.

So perhaps this would be something to bring up to your senators and representatives, and encourage them to pass laws reinforcing our right to carry?

Mods: perhaps this belongs more in activism instead of legal?

Many schools have SRO's, or school resource officers. Even having an armed person(s) on scene doesn't mean an active shooter will be stopped without any victims. Arm the entire campus if you want, the bad guy who draws and fires the first shot will always have the initiative. Ultimately, bad people will do bad acts, protect yourself as you see fit.

Not a legal question, and speculating on 'what if' is simply not appropriate for THR.
