I have a Full Spikes Tactical AR 15.(16inch) It has a front sight on it. I am trying to buy a Nikon M-223 2-8x32 Rapid Action Turrents Scope 8486. My question is will I be able to see my front sight?

Second, I wanted to be able to learn how to shoot my AR with Iron Sights for short range and long range use a scope. Any thoughts on the Nikon or is there anything better for the $350 price range?

Thank you in advance.

The Nikon is a great scope in that order range. You might see the front sight on the lower settings bit it doesn't bother most people. It's a small blur in the bottom of the view and shouldn't be in the way.

You won't know if the front sight blur bothers you until you try it. For myself, the blur made precise shots on small targets while hunting very frustrating

right, and usually there's not even a blur as your scope can't focus that close to the objective.

The Nikon Monarch scope is amazing glass no matter which one.
The iron sights depends on what iron sights you have. The lower you can go with the iron the more chances you can use them and/or use lower rings.
I cannot extend my sights w/o removing the scope but I also have a T1 red dot at 1 o'clock.
The truth you can have bot the red dot and iron zeroed at 75 yards (for practical purposes is good for 25-100) but in the end with a 2-8 you can use the x2 magnification with both eyes open w/o problems.
Get low profile iron sights and they should fit with low rings + med raiser.
The you will need a cheek raiser.

Different configurations I have...

Burris timberline also like this one for small footprint and
awesome clarity....

You will need to install a riser rail or high scope rings to elevate the scope over the top of the front sight and provide a good cheek weld. Then the front sight will be a blur below the cross hairs which shouldn't interfere with your aim. You probably won't be able to see the front sight well enough to aim with it (best bet at 2 power), and even so the Nikon scope would likely not leave room for a rear sight.

I suggest a riser rail over high mounts, if for no other reason than the rail setup looks better, and an extended rail (extends out beyond the front of the receiver) will provide greater mounting room for scopes with long eye relief and magnifier. A possible alternative allowing you to use the iron sights would be a quick detachable rail (such as the GG&G Cam) which would allow you to remove the scope and then reinstall it (hopefully) without losing the aim point (I haven't tried it).

There are scopes available (generally restricted to 4 power) that can be installed with the rear sight in place and provide a clear picture of the front sight. Then you would be able to aim with the iron sights through the scope (called co-witness). Perhaps you might want to do a search for this sort of setup.
