I picked up a used Mossberg MVP Patrol 308 and I am looking for scope recommendation for it.

Was looking at the Vortex Optics Crossfire II 3-9x50.

Just wanted to know what else it out there.

" Just wanted to know what else is out there. " Check the Natchez site.

A little effort on your part will open up a whole new world.

Quiet, I have that same scope on my Ruger GSR. Works well. There are many choices. I am sure that you have been out looking around. Your question appears to be more of a what are others using with a similar rifle. For me the Crossfire meets my needs.

I have a Burris 4.5 x-14 x -42mm Fullfield II Ballistic Plex on my MPV Patrol. Great scope for the money. If you go 50 MM objective you'll have to use high rings to clear the irons unless you take them off or just don't worry about the front sight.

What you really need to specify is what this rifle will be tasked to do, ... and what distance do you anticipate most of your shooting will be done?

For example, if 90% of the time you'll be using it as a short range predator/'yote-slaying rig, then something with a 1-6x or 2-7x magnification range might do. In other words, the type of mission drives the choice of equipment to carry it out.

As far as the quality of the optic, buy the best you can afford.
