Scope ring mount question, medium or high?

What size scope ring would I need for this size scope, medium or high?


Tube Diameter: 1"
Objective Diameter: 48mm
Ocular Diameter: 39mm

With that objective, very likely you'll require the high rings.

This can also be variable on the gun make and barrel size. You might list those out just in case there is something wierd.

It's for a Savage Model # 116 in the weather warrior .375 H&H Magnum

And every brand of ring has a different height. A medium in one is not necessarily a medium in another. Same with bases. But with Weaver bases, I'd say a high in Burris Signature Zee. I think Midway used to have a calculator somewhere on their web site.

ive got medium rings on my savage 10fp for a scope with a 50" bell. just barely clears it and looks handsome

I just put a 40 mm. on a rifle using Warne medium rings, and there's about a match-heads space between the rifle and scope, if that. I'd bet you're gonna need High rings with that scope.
