There was a guy at the range with a 6" Python, rested & seated, that shot a 6-shot group the size of a quarter at 50 yards. He said he could do that all day, but I didn't see him shoot again. Is this common for a 6"? Does anyone have a set-up like that in 10mm or .357 with 100 yard data?

Absolutely these Colts can do this. I have a version of the Trooper Mk V and can shoot, offhand, well under 2" groups at 50 yards. I have shot an 18" steel plate at distances up to 200 yards with my Colt. This is why I have to chuckle when I see guys with semi-autos set up to target shoot at thirty feet or under. That's point blank range for me!

Hell, I'm not even a good shot and I can keep 8 rounds of 7.62x25 out of my Polish TT33 on a paper plate at 50 yards. Scoped, rested and with a Colt...quarter sized groups are within reason.

I was just pointing out that if...a poor shot like myself, with an un-scoped pistol shooting offhand, can keep 8 shots on a paper plate sized target(10"). I have no problem believing that a rested and scoped colt python should easily be able to produce quarter sized groups. I hope that clarifies my previous post.

1/2 inch @ 50yds = 1 moa, shouldn't be a problem for any decent 6 inch handgun. The trigger operator well need to know his stuff.

7.62.... paper plate..... scoped ..... Huh ?

The 7.62X25 is a very accurate pistol round. I have won many a beer at the range out shooting custom 1911's with my 100 year old C96, lost a few too.

I can't and never will be able to group 2" at offhand 50 yards, even if the gun was PERFECT. I'm not calling shennanigans just yet.:scrutiny:

With a good revolver and a good shooter it is no problem. Get a gun like a freedon arms in a rest you can get good rifle like groups at 100 yards

I think I've posted this picture before, its a 5-shot group out of my Ruger Super Redhawk .44mag. It has a 9 1/2" barrel and wears a Bushnel 2-6x scope.

The orange circle is 3" diameter, range was 100yds, gun was fired seated from a rest. One darn flyer ruined a rather nice group!
