Hey guys anyone know of a pistol/scout rifle scope that i could buy for say low $100s. The main requirement are that the scope hold zero i dont want to be adjusting it everytime i go to the range casue it wont hold zero. Optics dont have to be great, actually i dont expect them to be great i just need it to hold zero, magnification should be 2.5 to a max of 4, i been searching around but cant find anything. Also would consider used scopes. What can i get in that price range guys.

edit:: by the way the scope is going on a 91/30

What about a burris i seen them online used for $150-$200. Would they take the recoil and hold zero?

Yes, but the eye relief required by the scope will likely be too long for your installation unless your scout mount can let the scope sit a fair bit down the barrel. This is a Burris 4x pistol scope:

If it was mounted any closer to the rear of the rifle, the eye relief would be wrong and the sight picture occluded. The Weaver fixed-power pistol scopes seem to be more forgiving of 'intermediate' eye relief.

Well on a 91/30 i am putting the scope where the rear sight is so it is about a foot away from my face.

Thanks turkey but i already have a darrel mount, now if i could make up my mind about the scope i'll be set lol.

Weaver 2x @ $140. The Burris 2x is a few pennies more. Anything more than 4x will not be fun on a scout setup. The Weaver variable pistol scope is horrid and should be avoided.

thanks man apreciated? so if you had to choose between the weaver and the borris based on build quality which one would you choose. I am kinda leaning towards Burris, but what do you guys think?

I've heard great things about the Burris, but I've actually tried the Leupold Scout in lots of testing sessions at the range. Its great. Good optics and reliable zero, with very forging eye relief (common to Scout scopes and pistol scopes). Nominal eye relief is about 9+ inches, but a foot is no problem.

Burris is more robust than the Weaver, and is generally about $80 mo' expensive.

One note - I have the Burris and the Leupold scout scopes (and the Weaver 2x and Burris 4x pistol scopes) and the Burris DOES have one feature I find very handy in relation to the Leupold - the adjustable ocular. I find that the I really need an eyepiece focus feature to allow my vision-corrected eyes to sharply see the reticle, and the Leupold doesn't give me that.

The Leupold is generally a bit brighter and less critical of eye alignment than the Burris.
