Scratched a scope again

If you know some things are a problem and you don't like that problem, avoid those things.

Does it matter if its scratched if it's under the rings or did it get messed up before you got it where it needed to be?

The first scratch is always the hardest, now thats out of the way, just go enjoy it.

Eh, the 3-9X scope looks too big on the #1A.
Ordered Warne rings.
Looking for a 1.5-5X to put on it. Either an older glossy or a matte without CDS.

Now to put an EGW base on the 1B in .22 K Hornet and find a scope for it (6.5-20X or 6-18X).

#1A .308 now wears Warne rings.
Only complaint is aesthetics, the bottom of the ring has 90 degree points. Kinda goes against the rest of the rings looks.
They should do a little radius on em.

They only make the lowest in "medium" which is a little taller than the Ruger medium.
Close enough.

The old Vari X ii 3-9X has enough tube length to work with non offset rings.
IMHO the only other options would be a 3.5-10X or a 1.5-5x Gold Ring.

Its gonna run as is, until I score a 1.5-5x reasonable LOL

My rifle fell over, put about a 3' scratch down the side of my Nightforce scope.

Still works fine though.

At the first PRS match I shot my new Nightforce, some jackass knocked my rifle over and did the same thing, wasn't even decent enough to fess up and apologize.

Popped the 3-9x off the #1A to see what the Warne rings did, went by instructions. Yup, little ding. Ridiculous. Oh well, that scope is fine, just got a couple small cosmetic deals. Its in Warnes atop the .22 K Hornet #1.

No way im trusting my minty 12x AO gloss Leupold to em.

Ill proly shoot a couple groundhogs in May and then dump the rifle/ scope combo.

Love the look and feel of a Ruger #1 but their rings and quarter rib really suck.

No offset blued rings avail. Will eventually get a set and try to lap em. Last attempt at messing w #1 scoping. Set my 308 up for.deer, pops beater 22 250 for chucks and be done. Im too old for such hassles.

Regular 3-9X did half inch at 100yds w the K Hornet, running factory standard Hornady Hornet ammo.
Gun hardly moves LOL.
Def would like more X, but at 9X you won't lose image at the shot, at 100 yards. So you'll see impacts on the woodchucks.
