So I recently picked up a T/C Triumph to hunt with this year. When I got it, it had a set of T/C Gorilla Grip rings on it. Needless to say, I was not a big fan of them. I removed them almost immediately and planned to replace them with a Weaver base and Burris Signature Zee rings. Well, I got the base a couple of weeks ago, but never tried to mount it. The base I got is the Weaver base for the T/C Encore and Omega. Everything I read online says this is the same base the T/C Triumph takes even though Weaver doesn't list the Triumph on the package.

So I tried to mount it up, and the screw holes line up, however the screws for the base are too long an bottom out in the gun before they are tight enough to hold the base securely. Anyone else had this problem? Any idea where I can get shorter screws that will work with this base? Or am I going to have to try another base? I have a month until black powder season starts so I don't have too long to wait.

The screws are either 6-48 or 8-40 and you could cut them to the correct size. Or you could go to almost any gun shop that has a gunsmith and he might sell you the shorter screws.

I would agree that they would be 6-48. If you have a set of std leupold bases around or know someone who does, they consist of 2 different lengths of these screws. Might be worth a shot. If it turns out to be some wacko screw, Brownells has a good selection, but pricey

Don't bother emailing TC. I have tried emailing their CS 3 times in the past 2 years and they haven't had the coutesy to get back to me. I was hoping they would improve since being bought by S&W, but I guess that isn't the case

Use a file or grinder and shorten the screws you have. Normal procedure.
