SD9VE vs TP9SF

Just as a follow up: I ended up leaving the gun show with a tp9sf. It felt good in my hands and the price was right.

I cleaned and lubed it and put 100 rounds down range. I shot it side by side with a sig p320 and I actually shot the canik much better. The trigger is one of the best striker fired triggers I've ever shot. I know it's only 100 rounds but I'm seriously impressed.

Good choice IMO. They are great guns with excellent triggers.

Glad you picked up a gun. For anyone else in the same quaundry I have the S&W pistol but I have the generation before the SD9VE. Mine is the SW9VE. Yes the trigger is crunchy when unset. So what? When set it is a little spongy feeling. I did a simple spring swap per a Youtube vid and it made a difference.

When I bought mine I paid $325 with a $50 rebate and two free factory mags. Mine is not the two tone color but solid black and also came with a high intensity flashlight that stays on my night stand. My rear sight is drift adjustable. But it came properly adjusted so I have never moved it. It has been my Truck Gun for the last few months. It s a perfect gun for that. It always works with any ammo I have tried in it.

The newer SD9VE is supposed to have a trigger upgrade. And IIRC both the front and rear sights are in dovetails so should be adjustable.

Here is a good video review of the SD9VE.

Both are great. My brother and mom own the SD9VE. Great guns, 100% reliable in my experience. The triggers aren't ever going to get much praise even with an Apex kit but they are reliable, simple, and durable.

The TP9SA and SF have awesome triggers and are also reliable. They are made in Turkey, which seems to be one of the few complaints people have with them.

So basically, both are great but the trigger is probably half the weight with a much cleaner break on the TP9SF. The finish on the SD9VE holds up better.

Both have lifetime warranties and are made from quality materials.
