Security Six Grips, same as GP100?

I think Midway still has rubber Pachmayer "Gripper" grips for the Security Six too. Rubber Pachmayers are what I have on my old Security Six.

When looking for grips for the security six make sure that you have the correct frame. If memory serves me right early models (1970s ) were different than later models.

It's only the 150- prefix Six Series (low back)that have a different grip frame. You're is later production with lots of options. Check out e-bay. I like Herrett's myself.

No. The gp100 uses a stud frame where the rubber portion slide up and is secured with a crossbolt that goes through two small wood panels the rubber sleeve and the stud. The security six uses grips similar to what s&w uses on there revolvers. When I was looking for a set of Herrets shooting star grips for one of my Smith's I found several sets for the security six on eBay. Hope that helps.

I’m going to shoot the gun with Gripper for a bit. and use that grip money to a GP100 with cool wood grip!

Darn spell check. HERRETS. No the GP100 has a grip stud not a full grip frame like the Sixes. Those stock wood grips for the Sixes look good but remind me of the S&W Magna grips. Neither work for my big mits.

Just a warning, those Ruger diamond service grips look nice but are pretty useless for shooting Magnums.....they are ok-ish for Specials.

When Bill Ruger went into business, he bought one tree to use for making grips. When the Single/Speed-Six series ended, he was still using it.
Might still be.
I've owned several Ruger "Six's" over the years. T-grips, or even better Pachmayr's were added right away. Those target grips are pretty good too.
eBay is a really good place to start the search.
Found these for under $60.

What he said. Don't expect great deals on discontinued grips though, unless the good folks in Thailand are making new grips for the older Rugers.
