Self Defense Issue...Urgent

Trust me, all of these things have/are being done. He has saved all of the messages, and intends on getting a restraining order. The owner knows whats going on as well...I'm getting my shotgun back probably tomorrow, but I was not letting my friend have to go the rest of the night without being protected, period.

I really did not want this to start an argument, actually all I wanted was information regarding if this was legal or not.

I did learn a lesson though, so you probably won't see me in the legal and political section anymore getting advice.

Well pretty much everyone that has posted means well, they really do.

Problem is none of us are lawyers in your state and so anything we say is just a good guess.

We all LOVE to argue and debate it, but in a real serious situation none of know what the hell we are talking about, not enough that anyone should stake their freedom on it. :D

Bad juju just dripping out of this one. Do not loan your guns out. Your buddy may be the best guy in the world, but all it takes is one bad call on his part and suddenly you are involved in a investigation. If you want to help him out loan him a little cash so he can buy a used shotgun or something like that. Just dont let it end up registered under your name. If you have a problem loaning the guy $ then why would you loan him a gun?

OK. EVerybody, deep breath.

Now, Bazooka Joe: have you checked www.handgunlaw.org or www.packing.org to read the law regarding guns in your state? You can get answers without excess opinions there. Might be worth reading :D

As most of us are not in Indiana, we're unlikely to know the laws of Indiana. And the laws do differ enough that asking me, in Texas, for example, will profit you nothing.

Go do some research. You may be able to find what you're looking for there.

I don't see anything wrong with loaning a gun... they are tools, after all, and meant to be used... but this whole situation is hokey to the extreme.

What was he doing taking the company truck and cell phones? Why won't he give them back? Why does he think he'll need a gun to defend himself against his employer?

If I had that job, I'd quit.
