Hold onto it. Odds are pretty good you'll get something in that caliber sooner or later.

Besides, anything could happen - maybe a friend needs the ammo (insert your possible situation here), or whatever.

Sell it and put it into a reloading set (if you dont already reload) for what you shoot most of, or buy more components. You will get more"bang" for your buck than anything else then, and most likely be shooting long after any shelf ammo market dried up.

For only 50 cents a day, you too can make sure shooters like little PT1911 here never have to go without ammo again.

You'll receive up to date photographs and progress reports on a quarterly basis showing how the ammo you've paid for is improving your shooter's life.

So call the Disadvantaged Shooter's Fund Today. You'll be glad you did.
I have sufficient ammunition that I acquired well prior to any of this BS, I am speaking on behalf of all the new gun owners and shooters that everyone seems to welcome only to condemn to a lack of experience resulting from the inability to find ammunition... guess it doesnt much matter, everyone is so busy looking out for themselves that we are all going to lay down and allow everything to be taken anyway... I guess I would just like to see some sort of unity among owners and shooters rather than one taking what another needs just for the sake of selling it at a higher price or sitting on it with no intention of ever shooting it... capitalism set aside, you are only feeding the problem.

"the grasshopper in winter doesn't have the luxury of complaining to the ant that he overvalues what's taken all summer to stockpile.

Yeah, well, when you start eating ammo then that grasshopper and ant explanation might begin making some sense. ;)

I want it all.. every gun, every cartrige, every case of primers, hell, I wont even reload, i just want it all so no one else can have it... then I will hide behind the idea of capitalism saying I will sell it one day to make a profit... you know what would make it even better... if I could advocate for ammending the 2A, that way, I could just hide the guns, ammo, and accessories I have and sell them little by little to anyone willing to pay the highest price... that is CAPITALISM at its best isnt it? Whatever is best for me no matter who suffers. Why should I worry about anyone elses rights as long as it puts money in my pocket...

THIS IS WHAT I HEAR BEING SAID OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN THIS THREAD... ALL IN THE SPIRIT OF "CAPITALISM"

and what is the problem there?..
someone else will come along and make more. the amount of crybabies in this thread
is unbelievable.

Where do I fit into all of this? I saw it coming and acted. I don't reload, so I went and bought thousands of factory rounds to make sure I was getting a good price and I wouldn't run out for years. I have 10 hunting rifles from 22lr to a 300 RUM. I don't need ammo for at least 5 years if I shoot regularly and can last much longer than that if I just stayed zeroed and hunt.

Edit- I should add....I wouldn't sell or give any of my ammo to any new shooters to promote the sport!

So I just wanted to know, am I a bad guy or a good guy??

IMHO, once the debt deflation is over, commodities and tangibles will rule the roost as USD inflates. In view of the current goings on, I think it makes little sense to sell physical ammo now and try to catch the deflationary economic bottom to buy more. It may well remain relatively expensive, under-produced, and difficult to obtain. Sell it ten years from now, if sell you must.

I think the vast majority of us see purchasing ammo/components as a completely morally neutral act. At least I hope so.

Hell, you could be buying up all the ammo you could to set it on fire. While I would think that's more than a little crazy, it's your money.

And as far as we can see, they're not stopping production anytime soon.

If you were in the business and you acquire your product through suppliers and charge whatever you want, then fine.
It's called "entrepreneurship." When he bought a bunch of ammo at Wallyworld, he entered the business, and Mal*Wart was his supplier. Sorry if that is an inconvenience to you, but he's the one taking the risk and investing his own money.

(Yes, I realize he bought a year ago, but if he went out tomorrow to buy more, the principle would be the same.)

It's simple economics - buy low, sell high.

If you've got more than you can use, sell it. The supply will eventually catch up and you'll be able to get more than what you started with.

Matter of fact, what calibers do you have? I can't find anything around here.
