Selling a G19

It's definitely a tough call when an old 4-legged pal starts to go downhill fast. Expensive treatments are questionable at best, and often we undertake them to the detriment of our pups.

I will tell you all one thing I've found that absolutly has helped my current 7 year old pointer/lab/shephard mix with his chronic joint issues...CBD oil. My dog would constantly be limping after long walks and any hard running he'd do.

My vet wanted to do surgery, but I had zero interest spending $5,000 on something I thought was a 50% shot at best. My vet then said I should try CBD as an alternative. After 5 days on CBD oil, no more limping in over 2 years!

This is the best source I've found for it. If you are a disabled vet or on limited income, they have some excellent plans to offset your costs: https://www.lazarusnaturals.com/shop/pet-products

If you have an old dog, CBD is a blessing to them. And to be honest, it's been a blessing to me as well...just stick to an independently tested, made in the USA product.

Yes. We just started using with my 10 yo lab (in my avatar) and it has worked miraculously. Went from barely making it up the stairs to fetching the ball again in one week.

Now we seem to run out of Cheetos more quickly and have a problem with Pink Floyd blaring at odd times during the night. Who knew?

Ranges here are all closed due to covid. I like the GEN3 because the finish on it seems superior to the 4 or 5. I like the GEN5 because of the lack of finger grooves. I had thought maybe the Glock recoil spring tech had advanced or regressed enough to help with a choice. I sold the GEN4 to a friend this A.M.. I agree the G19 is probably the best and most utilitarian plastic choice for HD/Carry. I've got a 12yr. old dog that needs some expensive care, I'll sell everything if I need to.. Thank you all for your advice and opinions.
Jim
If you like your Gen 3, you can keep your Gen 3. :D

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog.

Not in the larger 9mm Glocks, IMO. The original 9mms (19 & 17) were ridiculously durable even in their original form. If you can tell a difference in shootability between the old and new recoil spring assembly changes, that might help with a decision. In fact, the changes to the newer style recoil spring assembly actually caused problems in the larger 9mms when they were first introduced until Glock got some of the kinks worked out. (Yes, I realize you've already made the decision, but figured others might read this.)

I fired all 3 G19's 6 months ago and really couldn't find any difference between them. As far as my choice to sell the GEN4 it was based strictly on the finish compared to the other 2. Your info and comments are most informative and welcome to me and others as you can never know too much about your firearms and those you may buy.

Thanks, Jim
