I put the gun on Armslist and I have a potential buyer, this has been a very reliable gun for me.

I am not sure if the sale will go through yet but I am thinking of a replacement in 9x19.
My issue with the XDS is I do not shoot it well, my other semi-autos are SA or DA/SA, I'm thinking a 1911 type 9mm would be better.
I'm thinking about the Sig P938 or Kimber micro 9, but I'm wondering if Springfield will offer a small 1911 type pistol in 9x19?
Thanks.

Then you are smart to sell/trade it.

I have no idea if they will come out with a small 1911ish auto like the Sigs or Kimber. I am surprised they have not already. The EMP isn't as small, and is pricey, but is a heck of a pistol.

I shoot 45 a lot better than 9mm. I only have a pocket 9 left. In 45 I dont feel as snappy of recoil and can stay get back on target quicker. It may be worth trying a different caliber before you get into your next pistol.

I've been carrying an XDs 45 for 6 years now I think.

I recently had to send it in to get the trigger replaced. Not having the gun in the middle of summer made me realize I had no similarly sized gun for backup. I've also been thinking about the nature of modern 9mm ammo. I've started carrying 124 gr +p HSTs in my P30SK. I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off with more ammo than bigger bullets for a social work gun.

The P938 Legion is what I've settled on. I am going to pick one up this winter so I can practice with it, put it through its paces, and begin carrying it next summer. I'm going to keep my XDs though and have it as a backup. It will also be my trail gun for when I believe concealment is needed, though I typically don't worry about concealing on the trail.

If you don't shoot the XDs well, and have practiced with it extensively, then ditching it is absolutely the right choice.

I sold the XDS today :) My LGS had the Legion p938 but they sold out with more on the way , they did have the Legion p238 and I liked it. I look forward to getting the Legion p938 in my hands this could be a good fit for me.
The Legion p238 could be a good option for my wife if she doesn't steal the Legion p938 I might get :(

What I don't get about the Sig p938 is they have a ambi safety but no ambi mag release :scrutiny: not sure why that is?
