What do you think will happen to the availability and cost of semi-automatic ammunition, or the components to make it, once all semi-automatic weapons are banned? :uhoh:

I'm with MICHAEL on this one. I disagree that "they" will be able to successfully ban the posession of semi-auto firearms. Even during the darkest days of the AWB rifles/magazines/ammo were widely available.

I wouldn't have the slightest idea, because semi-autos won't be banned.

And even if they were - there's no such thing as "semi-auto ammunition". Ammo is ammo - nothing designates it as being for a bolt gun, a revolver, or a semi-auto. There are revolvers that accept ammo that is commonly used in semi-auto pistols, semi-auto pistols that take what is traditionally rifle ammo, etc, etc.

? Who cares? five gallon buckets full of brass, thirty-five gallon barrels full of wheel weights, refrigerators full of powder and freezers full of primers. Y'all have fun now:)

"Their not going to be banned Not even hillary could pull that off."

You two seem confident. I sincerely hope you're right.

These socialist-leftists want very much for us to be like Europe.

As for ammo and magazine availability, that's because they had not succeeded in banning all semi-automatic weapons, at that time.

Again, that confidence... Again, I sincerely hope you're right!

With regard to ammos, that's not exactly true. Revolver cartridges have a lip on their casings to hold them in their cylinders; auto/semi-auto cartridges do not have this feature. Revolvers that accept auto/semi-auto cartridges include an additional half moon clip to retain these cartridges.

You're right, there are pistols that accommodate rifle cartridges, and there are carbines, and hybrids, and whatever...

In the Hillary-Obama world, all of the above would be banned, or rendered impotent due to the unavailability of components.

Ah, the old still in the hills, home brew in the basement, solution! That's how my ancestors dealt with prohibition! ;) Might work for awhile... Ted Kennedy's people got rich doing it, running bootleg liquor! Gotta love America! :)

By the bye, beer's going up about $2.00 a six pack, since land that produced barley and hoppes is now being planted with corn--for ethanol; the wonder fuel that doesn't save a damned thing!

Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid! :barf:

And I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that a kid could be expelled from school for pointing his finger or drawing a picture of a gun.

Recently a friend's young girl came home from school and said they are being taught that the 2nd Amendment is so "the military can have guns".

Many of you folks don't know your enemy very well.

While ultimately I think the possibility of something like that ever happening is very unlikely we do have to be careful. Being vigilent and never settling for the current legislative situation is the most important thing. Gun owners seem to go along with an incremental removal of rights, just look at nfa, 86 ban, etc especially if they get to keep what they already have. We've only had 7 responses in this thread and you already see that attitude:
