I find it hard to believe that a four time felon is still on the street to commit this crime. I sincerely hope that he has a rather large cellmate that has severe violent tendencies. The gas station "fill-up" was a very smart move if only public services (911) had done what they were supposed to do, this might have been avoided.
 
Those of us who are inclined to do so should send Alexis a card, or a toy, or something tangible to let her know that strangers care.

One of the major problems with this is demonstrated when reading the names of the people involved. You can't tell who's related to who because everyone has a different last name. Instead of blaming guns for violence, they need to blame the lack of male role models. This brave little girl needs a family and the sad fact is she'll probably never have one. Her role models will be whatever loser criminals her mother brings home on a monthly basis. Of course, I'm just an evil conservative just being intolerant of Detroit's cultural diversity.

Obviously this is horrible, but some of you are posting things that are even more so.

I am actually kind of surprised to hear things like [bad idea here] and everyone chomping at the bit to do things most often left to 3rd world despots.

This is America, we dont torture people.

Also, let me just remind you all of something you may have heard at church.

Lets leave room for the wrath of God, and not bring a bad name upon the gun-carrying community as a bunch of bloodthirsty radicals.

But obviously, this is a great example of how the mom should have been armed to protect her daughter, if she is runnin around with creeps like that.

Is there anyway we here could pool together a little bit of our recources and do somthing for that little girl. I know I can scrape together a few bucks toward the cause. If anyone knows of anything to that effect, please send me a PM. That little girl took the ultimate high road, and I think we could do somthing to honor her for that action.

it is X-mas yall..... why dont we get a hold of the the friend, or the Hospital and try to get a "REAL" christmas for the Brave LIL HERO, (tree, gifts, Santa, stocking, dinner, the WHOLE 9). what yall think? do we have anyone in MI that might be able to help us with this? get a hold of me
 
good call Kowboy, count me in. It'd be a good thing to do whatever we can to make her christmas a little brighter.
 
I have to agree- the suggestion of [bad idea here] is not THR, and like dom said, vengeance is the Lord's.
That said, I'm sure there's a special place in hell for scum like that.

There is no revenge sweet enough to take away the bitterness that this girl her mother and friend have to endure. One of the points of the legal system is to remove threats from society, like Tillie. I hope that a nice lawyer finds a way to get them money. It looks like the gov't dropped the ball on several instances with this guy. I'm so confused. How did a felon get a firearm? I thought it was against the law.

You know, letting him out, letting him on parole, not responding to a call...

Why should a repeat felon ever get parole?
 
that figures, mom dates a 4 time convicted loser and the kid gets shot saving her. I hope mom learned a lesson about who she lets into her and her child's lives
 
I'm not rich, but I do have a little extra to send if someone from MI puts something together...She deserves it.

I'd be even happier to send something to her new foster parents. But I doubt that happens. She will just find another felon to bunk with.
 
I just Called. Alexis is in surgery right now, againn for the second time. She is in critical but stable condition and is expected to pull through.

I suggest we as a group create an award as mentioned earlier in the thread and present it to her. I also believe it would be appropriate to send Christmas gifts and or money to help her out with medical bills and other expenses in her recovery.

The hospital has set up a "Relations Department" with a person who will coordinate the donations and gifts. The number is 313-745-5340. I urge everyoen to match my $100 donation stating it is from a member of "The High Road".

I will send a donation also. I have a 7 year old girl.....boy I sure would like to tell her mother a thing or two for having her daughter around that kinda person.:fire:
 
i called the number and the hospital says the family set up a fund through her elementary school. The info given for donations was:

Hey Mom! If you care about your kids be careful of who you date.

The sad thing about this is the fact that Tillie will probably go free some time in the future and date some other poor child's mother.
 
I do apologize profusely if I offended anyone. What I said was HYPOTHETICAL. It was a scenario meant to express my repugnance at the kind of person who would purposely attack a child. I think it's best to move on to brighter pastures, and away from that regrettable post.

That man isn't the real focus; Alexis is. In an earlier post, a link to the Detroit news specified how people can contribute financially to Alexis and her family. Here is the link again:

Hey, don't sweat it. In the words of Brain (the mouse) "something very unpleasant" needs to happen to him. It's just that here on the High Road, we avoid detailing the gruesome stuff.

Not to worry, I'm sure the designated unpleasant people will take care of that.

Now, back to the contribute thing.

Without wishing to appear cynical, has anyone verified that monies sent to our young heroine will actually be used to her benefit, and not for, ahem, mommy's habits?

Is there a trustee in charge of this?

I'd hate to do something charitable on a large scale and find later than it got wasted so someone could get wasted.

Does the money go to someone at the hospital who takes responsibility for its disposal?

Anyone know?
 
Luckily, he will die in prison. If the prisoners don't get him, he'll fall down a stairway sooner or later.

I'm going to guess that she wasnt large enough for the bullets to expand while they were passing through her. God, I feel sick just even thinking about this.....please let this little girl be okay, it sounds like she's had a hard row already.
