This guy will be out of jail faster than the guy in the cell next to him that ran over a dog.
Seriously....when things are THIS clear cut....why isn't there a public hanging?
Wouldn't MAKING AN EXAMPLE OUT OF EXTREME CRIME scare some of these idiots out of their crimes?
I mean...the only consequence is going to Jail? This guy's allready done than a few times! Nothing new to him! No biggie!

The death penalty isn't used nearly enough! Now more tax dollars will be spent to keep this guy in the high profile area of a county jail and give him another "fair trial".

It's called due process, it's a civil right and if you even find yourself wrongly on that side of the judicial system you will thank your maker for it.

But I think he should get his speedy trial and a speedy trip to the electric chair (once found guilty)

Dom & K

Uh unless I missed something since the war began, we do torture our enemies. Waterboarding according to the Bush Administration is a perfectly legal torture technique to simulate drowning.

That said I have a 5 yo daughter, if anyone thinks of harming a girl around her age I would be the first to intervene. Believe me furry hath no rath like a single a parent. To harm someone of that age by shooting them is despicable and unexcusable.
He should be forced to do something nice to her everyday for the rest of his life, at gun-point if need be. He should not be allowed to harm an innoccent in that manner and walk away as if she is no more than a piece of trash to be discarded after he is done with her. He should have to revisit his crime each and every day so that it sears into his brain for every waking moment.

Make the punishment fit the crime! That is what is wrong with our legal system. No more Hard, in hard time.

No more Hard, in hard time.

I was told by a friend of mine (now deceased, heart trouble) that convicts who harm children are not received very well by other inmates. He spoke of dealing with such offenders from a "first person" perspective, and he was not a prison employee if you get my meaning.

Anyway, based on what I've been told there will be nothing easy about the time this guy serves. Inmates apparently take crimes against children rather personally. :uhoh:

I can't believe all the people here jumping on the "mom is also to blame" band wagon. Latest news on the situation:

The little girl lost one of her eyes, has had a ton of reconstructive type surgery but is expected to make a full recovery otherwise.
The mother was grazed in the head and shot in the arm.
The mother met the man through a mutual friend supposedly in June and didn't know anything about his criminal past. But after noticing he was a freak broke up with him and took out an order of protection against him which obviously didn't protect her and her family very well. She was not in a relationship with the man when he kidnapped the 3 of them. Thats from the family's spokeswomen who is also related to them.

Its a nice thought, but somehow I doubt that it would have much effect on him.

Man that girl has guts. What a bastard.

EDIT:

Just realized "bastard" could be misconstrued as referring to the girl. It isn't.

cedjunior,

Thanks for the extra info. I've noticed lately that THR isn't always High Roadish anymore and that a lot of people jump to conclusions very quickly. Oh well. I hope that the girl and her mom make as full a recovery as either one can from this.

The shooter should have been put to death at the scene, the gas station attendant should be thanked and the child should get a very big award.

that is one of the bravest acts I have ever heard of.

I can't have children and stuff like this makes me very angry to read. I'll just leave it at that.

'Scuse me . . .

The QUESTION was,
Any update on the little girl's condition?
. . . so could we have an answer to that?

The "what a scum-sucking [profanity] [curse] [anatomy]" responses are pretty obvious and don't enlighten.

Can we have some enlightenment, please?

Sorry everybody, its not news anymore. She lost her spot in the news to Britney gaining 5 pounds. are you even upset that i'm probly right?

Next time someone questions why I would pull a "Nick Berg" stunt on some people, I'll show them this article. Hopefully the mods will do something with this and give this girl some board wide recognition.

I thought this forum was called The High Road for a reason...

Rather than praise the actions of a little girl who deserves all the praise we can give her...We talk about all the low road things we'd like to do to the man who commit the crimes.

Mods,
I am starting to wonder about this forum, it seems a lot more "low road" content is showing up here than a year ago.

Not much on updates

The last article the Detroit Newspaper had that mentions Alexis Goggins was a January 30th article that talks mostly about placing blame on the 911 system which caused a 3 minute delay in getting policemen to the scene.

The article talks more about another case where a 5 year old called 911 to report his mother choking to death and was told to stop making prank calls. The 5 year olds mother died and the 911 operator is being criminally charged.

So I am guessing it is a combination of lack of currentness and the possibility that someone is trying to protect the child from notoriety. There are probably privacy issues in reporting on a child after the child has slipped out of the limelight.

I tried searching on the child's mother's name and did not get any current information, so it looks like the child's mother is also not seeking publicity. Unless the child's mother updates us I am guessing we are out of luck as far as the child's current condition.

Question, Is the family gonna sue 911? I mean the mom calls and gets told that there is no one she can send, but yet the clerk calls and gets a responce in under a minute.

Has the 911 center responded to this at all. THe 911 call is what we should all be really pissed about. I mean, that operator was total unprofessional and i feel shares a lot of responcility in this. If you have a problem, your best bet is to have the police dept desk number on speed dial. Youll likely get better results then calling 911 and getting your death recorded.

Anyone have the Public relations address for that detroit 911 center, we need to send them letters of admonishment.

I cant believe no more then a few posters have commented about it and that this whole forum is pissed beyond all rational measure.

Shows you what dump and a joke the police force is here in Detroit. When delivering food for focus hope in Detroit, all of the families pile garbage in the front of their houses so bullets wont go through the walls during drive-by's. Detroit sucks, period.

More Heat Than Light

Well, I guess we've passed the point where this thread illuminates, and now it just gives off fumes.

Time to pinch the wick.
