I went searching for new chrono shooting spots this weekend and did some 9mm chrono work. Following are the results:

Tested some Hornady Critical Defence 115gr FTX factory SD ammo just to see what I get. I wan't ver impressed with the numbers.

SD: 16.7
Force: 331
PF: 130
Velocities: 1137, 1139, 1149, 1156, 1112

Next up is RMR 9mm Zombie loads. These loads were picked for accuracy, and just now chrono'd to see what velocity I get. Great SD/ES numbers. I am happy.

Next up are the RMR RN FP 100gr bullets I received from Dudedog. I have not tested them for accuracy yet, but it seems I can increase the charge even more since I only reached 1172fps and SD/ES not that great yet.

Next up were the MBC 125gr coated SWC bullets I received from Dudedog. They shot very well and it looks like I can go a bit higher charge if I want to safely make minor.

Last up is a loads I have had for a while and just never chrono'd. This again was just to see what I have been shooting all this time.

Enjoy the numbers and hopefully somebody can get some benefit out of looking at the numbers.

YES More powder for the 100s  :D
5.6gr CFE-Pistol were about 1230 ish 6gr CFE Pistol was around 1300 out of my 5" 9mm 1911.

I need to load some up with BE86, say maybe 5.8, 6.1, 6.3 and 6.5.
Alliant shows 6.3 as a max with a 115 JHP so with the 15gr lighter bullet I should be safe at 6.5 but will work up to it.

Hope you found a good new chrono spot. Glad to see the chrono is working well.

Thanks for the numbers.
Chronos are fun. :)

It seems you need about 1 or 2 tenths less powder for AutoComp to make the same velocity as CFE Pistol, but your 5" barrel makes a big difference. My barrel is only 3.9", so it accounts for some of the loss in velocity I see.

The 5.3gr load with the 100gr RMR's cycled the gun ok, but the brass basically ejected on top of me. I immediately know that there was plenty of space to increase the charge.

I was really impressed with the BE-86 numbers I saw with the RMR JHP's. These SD/ES numbers are the best 9mm numbers I have had so far. This load is now ready for some Zombie ammo. I just need to see if I am going to have enough nickel cases to make them look good.

I found two spots off the beaten path. It also helps to have a 4x4. This should make it bit easier for me to chrono my loads.

Thanks for the sharing, I like looking at other people chronograph results it's very interesting.

You are welcome.

It should never take away the process of working up loads safely, but it helps me to validate my thinking when I look at other reloaders' load data and chrono numbers.

When I am loading the light bullets I usually go to ways. Some loads that are crank up the vel and some that are mouse farts.
The mouse farts are just enough to function the gun and are fun to shoot.
I loaded up some of the 100s with 3.7 gr of PROMO. Nice and light almost no muzzle flip at all in the all steel 1911.
Not something I would want to shoot all the time but fun every now and then.

Just for fun I will have to load up some test round and shoot some in my XD subcompact, XD compact and then the 1911 to see what difference the barrel length makes.
