According to BATF, a person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. On the other hand, according to FedEx, the shipper must agree to tender shipments of firearms to them only when either the shipper or recipient is a licensed manufacturer, licensed importer, licensed dealer or licensed collector and is not prohibited from making such shipments by federal, state or local regulations.

Has anyone found a common carrier willing and able to handle the shipment of a handgun to the sender in care of another person in another state?

I don't know if this is illegal (of all my research, I can't find anything on it so if it is, please tell) but I don't think it is:

I was having trouble with FedEx as well as UPS with shipping handguns. They kept on telling me that I had to have a FFL (they didn't say which one  ).

I paid the $30 for a C&R and I haven't had any trouble since. They look at me and ask if I have an FFL and I whip out a copy of my C&R. They look at the name and say, "Okay, that will be $$$$$, anything else sir?".

When asked if I am shipping to another FFL, I just say yes.

HCfan, man if you don't know if it is legal, don't post it on a forum! It might get you a visit during the night if it turns out to be illegal. lol

Edit your post to talking about the weather or something, then I'll edit mine to agree with the nice blue skies today.
