I am selling a revolver on gunbroker and wondered the best way to ship it? It will be sent to a FFL. Ups will only ship next day air which can be expensive and un-attractive to buyers. Was wondering how other ship for flat fees between 25 and 45 dollars?
Thanks

Someone with an FFL can send it though USPS, which is significanly less expensive. It may be cheaper to check with your local FFL and see if he would ship it for you.

Unlimited,

I asked this same question a while back and do recommend your reading the thoughtful answers provided.

I don't know how to 'copy and paste' the link to the thread, but go to the 'search' feature and type in UPS. The thread is in the legal section.

My decision after re-reading the thread I started? Buck up to a local dealer I know and eat some of the USPS cost by staying at a flat 30.

Just my take, JT

JT, I like your solution. I'll search for your thread, but there is a local store that is good about shipping. Didn't even think of that option.

I have sold a few handguns and have one on Gunbroker right now. Shipping will be FFL to FFL. My FFL charges $25 for the transfer plus shipping. He can ship it via USPS Flat Rate Priority Box which is about $18. With insurance and confirmation it will come to about $25. Total cost is about $50 to anywhere in the US (because of the flat rate shipping). I charge $40 on GB for shipping and I eat the rest of the cost.

Anyone who is advertising a lower flat rate shipping cost is either eating the difference themselves or they are an FFL and only have to pay the flat rate shipping cost.

You can go to Gunbroker and check their listings of dealers in your area. I have found transfer costs ranging from $5 to $75 near me. Do some prep before walking in to the first dealer you find.

Went to a army / navy store that has a good reputation with customers for recieving weapons. The owner said he would ship it with insurance by USPS for 25 to 30. That seems more than fair to me. Thanks for all the responses.
