I would never shoot, but perhaps I would break down for various components if the price was right. Powder would be fertilizer.

If anyones gonna be at fault for blowin up my gun---let it be me. Tho I am safe when I reload, crap happens. The only reloads I would shoot that weren't mine would be from the person who taught me. Only cuz I know he's anal about consistencey. Other people call him by different names, but I call him Dad.

I used to buy 50 rnds of 148gr wadcutter .38 S&W Special reloads, for 5 bucks and turn in the same amount of brass.

The reloads were done by a total stranger, allthough they were sold at my local gun shop. The owner of the gun shop had enough credibility to set my mind at ease.

Was given some , as my co-worker called HOT .357 Mag. Was shooting a Blackhawk that I considered indestructible, well after the first shot, I dumped the cylinder and gave them back , the Black Hawk wasn't that indestructible:what:. They were hotter than anything I had loaded at that time in my reloading hobby.

I was given some shotgun ammo by an old friend ,that wound up being of poor quality as in squib loads, only cost me a couple pheasants and some ridicule by my buddies.

Looking back and knowing what I know now, I would say circumstances would dictate whether I shoot someones reloads.

I had a 45acp case split in my reising barel. needless to say the guy that sold the reloads was not happy with me when I insisted that he honor his garuntee. It was $12 for 100rounds. Cost him $325 for my new barrel

I think you'll find that most folks who understand reloading will choose the last choice. (myself included)

I'll also wager that the other choices will most likely be selected by those who have less understanding about reloading in general.

Ask this poll in general discussion and if you can get voters here to refrain from hitting both the numbers will likely be dramatically different between the two

Not sure about the USA but over here it would be illegal to sell reloads unless you were a qualified and insured manufacturer. At NRA Bisley it is expressly forbidden even to give reloads to another shooter. In any event I'm not risking unknown loads in any of my rifles - because:

A) it might damage my firearm and / or me.
B) I'm very precise in my reloading and have set my sights accordingly - I'm not going to faff around re-adjusting for a finite supply of odds and sods.

as long as they have the required FFL, and are a biz, sure.

Some guy with a table, no way in hell.

I bought a HK in .357 Sig once at a show. I did not have any ammo nor was I set up to load it. I wanted to try it out so I bought 50 reloads from a fellow at the show. He has a business and has been a regular at shows around here for years, so I figured it was OK.

Would you shoot reloads bought at a gun show or similar?

What did you vote? If it were a licensed and insured vendor like Georgia Arms, I might. I've been given ammo by acquaintances that was overloaded (I later discovered when I pulled the bullets,) and as a general rule will shoot nothing other than my own handloads. I have several firearms that are over 3k rounds, that have never seen factory ammo.

I would hate to risk bad blood in a friendship over ammo frugality, so shooting my own is a safe bet.

Outcome?

Not a chance in the world.

Well, maybe if SHTF and I had no ammo left, someone was coming at my family and someone else handed me some ammo. (so I guess the answer is still no way!!)

Nope. I wouldn't shoot a stranger's reloads in my gun, in much the same way I wouldn't let someone else shoot my reloads through his gun.

I dont think i'd shoot someones reloads either but i hope someone would shoot mine. :) I'm getting the info packet in the mail soon to think about selling reloads to my friends and locals. Prob wont ever do it but i just thought i'd check it out. Liability ins might be another story though! If i need it.

I didn't vote,

But I've bought reloads twice - The first time was from a respected 'local guy, I bought a box of 50 moly-coated .223, match grade bullets that I rarely use, although they have been fine. I mostly use them to sight in or compare OAL on my own reloads. The other time was to buy factory reloads from a ammunition distributor, they are Winchester factory reloads, in .40, and I don't care for them as they are just a tad too 'hot' for my style of shooting...Unfortunately I have a 1000 of them give or take.. I did try a 'friends' reloads once, and stuck one in the barrel, and then had a jam which probably saved my life! Needless to say, we are not 'friends' anymore, either...
