picked up my first pound of shooters world powder, the heavy pistol. Googled up some load data and up came this wonderful PDF full of loads and all with current test pressure in psi. Seems they know how to produce a quality manual, I hope their powder is just as good. Interestingly they used the format by powder that I was really wanting, making it easy to see which powder is a good/best fit.

So you gonna share or are you gonna keep it to yourself? Link?

Which powder did you get? I've found their 4350 to be great in 22-250 with heavy bullets.
AR-Plus was showing promise with 77 grain was bullets in 5.56.

.

Now I want to try AR Plus even more!

Shooters world load data file is pretty good! Makes it pretty easy to compare powders for what you are wanting to do!

Velocity was better than expected. I only got through the ladder test and an initial group.
My reloading stuff is currently in storage until my farm sells.

SW/Lovex powders are great. I use Buffalo Rifle extensively as a 1:1 replacement for 5744, at about half the price. Lovex made 5744 for Accurate for years, and when Accurate switched manufacturers and took their name Lovex just rebranded it. I also like Major Pistol for 10mm and some 44 Mag loads.

I've used Tactical Rifle in my .223 and .308, and it's great. Very clean and very accurate. I use Auto Pistol for my .40 S&W and .45 ACP loads. I've found it's very much like AA#5.

I really like Shooters World S062 Precision I wish before all the craziness started I would have pick up a few more jugs :( I did not try it till after the fact vary close to Varget. I have tried AR plus, major pistol and heavy pistol all have worked well. Right now I think most of there powders are going to factory ammo right now

Id sure be into trying a few of their pistol powders. Ultimate seems worthy of a test pound at least as does buffalo.

I am also using Heavy Pistol.

It is a fine ball powder than meters great, about the same speed as 2400 and is supposed to be much less finicky/tricky than H110 or Lil Gun.

It has worked great in every load I have worked up with it.

The data says it's like #9. I was hoping for results about the same but hopefully a little cleaner/more completely burned.

I'm using Heavy Pistol in my 357 Magnum rifle M73 at the stated 13.1 grains and it is a ragged hole at 50 yards with the Speer 158 grain HP. The powder burn is 89.6%, the load ratio is 66.6% and the effective efficiency is 44.1%. The fps is 1773.5 at the muzzle. It meters better than most powders. So far, this powder is a winner with the 158. The Hornady 125XTP is another story. Just using the published data from SW, I found that the 15.3 grain charge shot 4 inches higher and was spread out over three inches. Powder burn was 85.6%, the load ratio is 69.1%, and the effective efficiency is 40.6%. The fps is 2068.8 fps. I'm going to ladder the 125 lower to see if it gathers a better group size. I think it's a very economical powder that in the right cartridge is magic.

Since many years the powder propellants from ACCURATE are proven and popular. In 2004 after acquisition of Western Powders Inc., USA, a large part of the powders from the company Explosia a. s. are produced in Europe. Since 2011 the manufacturer Explosia has begun to convert the previous ACCURATE designations to the new names of LOVEX. The new LOVEX designations are for the most part the same as the previous ACCURATE designations. Through intensive research the company tries to constantly improve the existing assortment and optimally supplement it with innovations. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable at LOVEX, high quality at a reasonable price!

Man, I'd love a "Shooter's World/Lovex to Accurate" mapping table. The only one I know is the Accurate 5744 = Buffalo Rifle equivalency. I'd definitely want to verify the equivalencies by carefully loading with Accurate data starting at the low end, but have been nothing but impressed with the Shooter's World powders I've used.

I put together a Shooters World reference spread sheet that includes their published load data and AA equivalents, along with powders most closely related to SW. You can sort by column to look at the data the way you want, powder, caliber etc. When sorting be certain to include adjacent cells. The usual disclaimers apply.

Mapping table is in both the Shooter's World Load data, and in the Lovex Load data. You can find the Shooter's World PDF on their website, and the Lovex PDF on the Lovex website. Not only maps it to the equivalent Accurate Powder, but also shows relative burn rate in relation to other popular powders.

Isn't it awesome? You can get a bit more data if you grab the Lovex PDF as well. Also, you can "generally" use AA#9 load data with all the normal caveats. I replaced everything I use to do with H110 with Heavy Pistol a while back....and never looked back.
