Shooting 9mm Handguns - Which was the Most Accurate

Speaking of a Blackhawk, are 9mm cylinders available for those that aren't sold as convertible, or did the OP just get lucky and find one that worked? A 9mm cylinder for mine would make it twice the fun.

I got lucky and the first random one I bought from Ebay happened to fit. I guess you could keep buying and selling them until one worked.

Apparently the 357 Blackhawk will be eating 9mm and my 45 "convertible" will be eating 45acp for as long as I'm shooting store-bought ammo.

Hi...
I only own two 9mm handguns( three if you count the 9mm barrel that rarely gets put in my M&P .40S&W).
My most accurate 9mm is a WWII bring back Luger that I shoot now and then. My Helwan Brigadier only gets shot every year or so.
9mm is probably my least favorite handgun caliber. I don't shoot it very often although out of my son's Beretta 92, I am able to consistently shoot respectable groups out to 25yds.
I much prefer larger caliber semi auto pistol rounds like 10mm and, of course, 45ACP and to a somewhat lesser extent the 40S&W.

My son has several 9mm handguns that he shoots extremely well. He also prefers the larger caliber chamberings.

The CZ TS2 has one of the finest factory triggers I've ever tried! And I agree - most shooters cannot match the accuracy potential of the better handguns today. Doesn't mean you can't own a super accurate handgun, just manage expectations.
Hands down the most accurate handgun I own. The CZ P-01 Omega is the most accurate carry gun.

Standing up and shooting---none of mine are exactly great but that is the fault of a geezer with essential tremors. Off the bench my 1911 is pretty good, not up to the one in 45 ACP though. Off a good bench rest the 1911 comes in second for me. I kind of hate to admit it it but a C-9 Hi Point that was a gift takes first. It has had work on the trigger and grip which makes it much more user friendly than one out of the box. Some may thing I'm nuts for taking the time to improve it but I enjoy trying to make things work better than a factory delivers them. I replaced and fitting a new barrel bushing which improved the 1911 a little as the one from the factory was slightly over sized. Since I was shooting identical handloads when I did the comparison I might experiment a bit more and make the 1911 come in first which it should.

As far as I can tell, my 5 9-mm CZs pretty much shoot with the same level of accuracy, which I think is good. Here's 15 rounds from my P-01 at 11 yards.

My most accurate handgun is probably one of the Browning International Medalists, but it's not a 9-mm.

I always tested from the bench at 25 yards, but in my dotage more likely 15 yards. In any case, I've not come across a 9mm semi-auto pistol or revolver that shot better groups than the Swiss SIG P210.

I have half a dozen 9mms. Never really checked them for groups - just sighted in at 25 yds with cheep factory ammo and shot steel. One thing I have noticed (verified this afternoon) is that I shoot the Sig P210 (current production target model) more accurately then all the others. No problem keeping a full magazine on a half size popper at 50 yds. I really need to do some load development for this gun, but keep getting sidetracked with other things.

Backtracking... my Blackhawk is my most accurate 9mm handgun, due to the 6.5" barrel and I shoot revolvers better anyway.

My 1911 is probably number two, but the PPQ and Tanfoglio are close. (If this had a poll, 1911 and "CZ75 variant" would be winning.)

The rest shoot like a bunch of service pistols, which is fine. That's what most of them are.

The ones that couldn't even do that went down the road. :)

I built this gun using an STI SteelMaster frame, so I could use it in my local pistol league, which requires open sights. I’ve built many 1911s in the last 50+ years, but this was my first 9mm and the first with an integral feed ramp.
I bought a 5” slide, 6” barrel (just because I think it looks cool) and sights; the rest of the parts came from my parts box.
Fitting the barrel to the slide and frame and finish-reaming the chamber was a huge PITA, but when it was done and a bunch of rounds run through it, it’s totally reliable and super-accurate.
The red and gold CeraKote was just for fun.

In 9mm, hard to go wrong with standard sized
service pistols such as the 1911, BHP, CZ,
Beretta 92. Close in or out a ways they do
the job. They all respond to extra finessing
beyond out-of-the-box models which are
already dang good.

I have a 3/4 size IDPA steel plate. If I can hit it the majority of the time (9 out of 10 times) at 50 yards, I assume the pistol is reasonably accurate.

I don’t own a pistol that won’t do that.

If I miss, it’s generally my fault. Not the gun.

I’ve had to tweak a few sights, here and there, but mechanically, I think any high quality handgun is capable of doing that.

At 7 yards, I know I’m missing when the hole is bigger than my fist after 30-50 rounds.
