Shooting a fire extinguisher with a 44 mag!

I fooled myself into thinking it would be bigger than it was. Cool though even if my thinking was wrong.

I've got an idea for a video. I need to find the slo-mo program and three cameras. can't wait.

I thought it would have been bigger too. I also was expecting the bullet to go through too! Thanks for the compliments!

Nice video. The most surprising thing to me is that there was no exit. I've shot a lot of stuff with my 44 mags and I've always been surprised by how much destruction they cause.

Good job on the slow motion too.

Judging the way that stuff flew out the hole, I'd expect that expired fire extinguisher would have still worked in a pinch.

I just replaced three expired extinguishers where the "pressure" gauge had moved out of the green area. I tried one into a trash can and nothing came out! Check yours regularly!

I have shot a similar fire extinguisher with a 16" 7.62x39 firing wolf FMJ and it failed to exit the other side. Dented it but did not exit. This was the result on multiple shots (from about 50 yard and from 100 yards). A 16" 308 firing brown bear FMJ was a through and through. (contrary to the oft repeated theory that a 16" barrel makes 308 the equivalent of a 7.62x39). A 9x19 pistol at 25 yards failed to penetrate.

Nice. We moved a while ago and tossed our expired extinguishers. Wish I had thought to use them as targets! Thanks for the link.

Try shooting a full 20 lb CO2 cylinder with a .308. Then keep your head down.

You can get them re-inspected in my past experience.
Could have done that under other circumstances, but they weren't permitted by the moving company.

That was cool. I am going to edit what I suggested. It would be my luck some dummy would try it.
