Shooting in Washington State

For all you Western Washington State guys n gals, here is the response I got today about the proposed Snohomish County Parks proposed Sultan Basin shooting range. I've mentioned it here a couple times in threads concerning where to shoot in the Puget Sound area. It looks like it may be a temporary victim of the current economy. :banghead:

Dear Mr. Harris,



Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Shooting Range. You were correct that Snohomish County has complied with all of the requests and requirements that provided the information that would set into motion the reconveyance of property in the Sultan Basin from the State of Washington Department of Natural Resources to Snohomish County for the purpose of establishing a shooting range. The DNR has not as yet acted on Snohomish County’s proposal. I should add that due to the downturn in the economy, Snohomish County Parks does not have any funding available to move forward with the engineering and construction of a shooting range. This may change as the economy improves.

Guess we'll have to wait for queen christine to impose a state income tax, before this project will get funded. In the mean time, we can take solace in the new viaduct or light rail system
