Since the elections, one Yugo underfolder AK47, one Polish underfolder AK47, DSA Stg58, Romanian AK74 clone, bunch of stripped lowers and picked up two Indian Enfield .308s today at lunch. Have purchased a bunch of mags for M14, AR15, AK47, FAL and HK91 as well as dozens of Glock 17 and maybe 10 Glock 21 magazines. I've purchased some ammo, not as much as I like, but made a start (just took in case of 7.62x54R from Oregon).

Got my brother and father working towards the same goal. We hope to be OK by the time AWBII passes next spring.

I still want an XCR!:banghead:

I need an M-14 clone and a M1 carbine before the swear Jerry (spit) Brown in as AG here. Then maybe a FAL parts kit and an SKS.

Lord help us. Moonbeam is the top lawyer in CA come January.

All the bolt guns can wait.

Thats my new priority list!

Better to be safe than sorry. I'm not overly paranoid like a bunch of people on here, but my buying priorities have changed somewhat. I'm not worried or anything, but I work hard for my money and I weigh pro's and con's to every high dollar purchase...heck, I'm also in the market for a car and that too is directly influenced by what happened this election. I had a "gun buy" list, and it's still the same guns... just in a different order.

One thing for sure is that I need to pick up a rifle FTF and off any list. I'm fine on handguns, but I think a good highcap lever action winchester type would be good to squirrel away. Keeping eyes open :D

MrTwigg, one little problem with buying things in MA... there's a registry. If they want to confiscate, they know what you have already.

But there are no laws preventing me from storing said items at an out-of-state address !

I've had a pretty good year, but I am thinking about another AR lower to just put aside and then worry about ammo and acccessories

I was discussing this with my liberal Constitutional Law professor, he brings up a good point. He agreed that the '94 AWB was indeed responsible for the Democrats losing control of Congress. He also agreed that a new AWB would seal their fate in the '08 election. He seemed certain that a new AWB will not come to light, he cited two reasons why. First, he rattled off a list of new democratic legislators he believes to be more moderate. He agreed with me that if the democratic party believes this election shows a complete turn in political opinion in America, they are wrong and it will be their demise. Second, he said they hav a hell of an agenda and a new AWB would be at the absolute bottom of their list. We need to do something with the budget, the war, health care, social security and the list goes on and on.

There was a political analyst (pushing a book of course) on C-SPAN the other day who said pretty much the same thing. He said for the Democrats, the Second Amendment was "off the table." It didn't get them anywhere and only diverted time, money and energy from their social schemes. Not to mention giving the Republicans something to rally around. I don't expect an AWB 2.

I expect a new more restrictive AWB to be introduced sometime next year. I am sure if it is introduced it will be passed in the committe and introduced for a vote. I don't believe that most of the new "pro-gun" Dems are going to fight hard to stop it. Since most of them seem to be more pro hunting than pro-gun.

I was thinking about buying a Glock 26 for a carry gun because I don't have a decent carry gun (Beretta 92 and 1911 are rather difficult and uncomfortable to carry) but seeing as this ban might rear it's ugly head sometime in the near future, I've turned my attention to aquiring either a worked-over Siaga-12 by Tromix or a .50 BMG of some type. The problem is, I'm not sure which is more likely to be banned first.

Is it more likely that they will both be banned at the same time? Or is it more likely that a specific law classifying the .50 BMG as a destructive device will happen before the AWB 2.0?

Post Election Shopping

My list has remained pretty much the same, however I'm speeding up the acquisition process:

10 more hi-cap magazines (M-14) - check
Acquire an HD shotgun (Remmy 870) - check
A nice new o/u sporting clays 12ga - check
A new auto pistol (Ruger MK2) for bulls eye .22 cal shooting - check
Get my CCW - check
Stockpile ammo - check
Acquire an AR-15 - Still trying to figure out which brand to buy
Acquire an AK -47 - Ditto as w/the AR, but really confused about which gun
Accumulate more Colt revolvers - As "needed" !:)
