I recently purchased some Speer 38 Special +P 135 Grain Gold Dot supposedly designed with short barrels in mind -- http://www.speer-ammo.com/products/short_brl.aspx.
I have a Ruger SP-101 which this ammo seems perfect for (at least on paper), but how will it perform from a longer barrel? Would a degradation in performance be expected from a 4" or 6" barrel?

Thanks. Found another recent thread titled Snub .357 effectiveness which answered most of my questions but from another reference. The short barrel .38 Spl should work well in the SP-101 and should be a lower recoil/low flash solution in the longer barrels. It isn't .357 Mag, for that I have .357 Mag.
