A fella at the club let me shoot his RPR yesterday.

My club has a few steel plates on the 300 yard range. I was able to effortlessly hit the 6" plate.

Now many here are thinking so what. A 6" plate at 300 with a precision rifle is nothing special.

What is interesting about this is it was chambered in 22.

I rarely shoot 22's, especially at longer ranges but I was impressed enough to call my guy and order one. I have a new found respect for the little long rifle round.

Most folks would be surprised what the range their little 22LR is capable of reaching if they’d simply put a scope on top and feed it decent ammunition. 6” at 300yrds is very reasonable to ask any Marlin, Savage, or Ruger 22LR.

It’s also great practice for improving your wind reading skills. I should do it a lot more than I do

I have one and really like it. 200 yards is as far as I can go at my local gun club now thanks to a couple of idiots getting the 3 and 4 hundred yard range shut down a couple of years ago and never to return. 6" steel is easy at 200 with just half way decent ammo.

Now I am looking at scopes. I really don't want to dump a bunch of money into this. looking at a vortex PST and a magpul bipod. should keep me under a grand total.
Damn guns. I won't ever be abke to retire.
