So, one of life's little mysteries: I shoot 5 rounds from my autoloaders, i can only locate 4. I shoot 10, I find 8. Shoot 4, find 3....

I know there are multiple universes out there, I just didn't know my brass was able to penetrate the barrier! One good thing however, when I die and travel into the other universe, it is going to be chock full with the unfound brass of every shooter who has ever lived! Probably find some arrows, spears and even rocks there too - no boomerangs though.

OK mugsie. Ya got any idea what beer feels like comin' out yer nose? I can relate! Thanks for the chuckle.:D

You know about the Underpants Gnomes right?

Well there are Brass Fairys using the same business plan.

Use a brass catcher. There is no reason to chase your brass all over. A simple fishing net can be used ot you can get ones that strap on your hand or weapon.

I almost spit my coffee onto my keyboard when I read this! Didn't know you were a South Park watcher too.
More on topic, I never come back with the correct number of casings. Wouldn't think that shiny objects could just disappear like that.

I got a ginormous Budweiser patio umbrella free from a local watering hole a few years ago when they replaced them with new ones.

Open & upside down on the ground in the LZ, it catches all the brass.
Then fold it up & bring it home and dump it out later!

I find that the brass is like the tide around here. Sometimes you gain a few. Sometimes---make that usually, you loose a few.:D After a couple years it all seems to even out to a spare bucket of brass for me.

it sounds like your "found ratio" is better than mine. I am lucky to find 50%, but i am also not that patient. Good argument for revolvers.

Agh, shiny things, what a great idea. I have a very good friend who is a retired Marine (I'm Army myself), and he's easily distracted by shiny things! I'll bring him! He'll find 'em for sure....

My friends laugh at me crawling around on my hands and knees looking for that one last piece of 10mm brass. Usually never find it.

THANKS MUGSIE!
So, one of life's little mysteries is solved: I shoot 5 rounds from my autoloaders, i locate 6. I shoot 10, I find 12. Shoot 4, find 5...

What makes you think you will go to the brass universe? What if you end up in the other place? You know the one with all the socks?

Had a Colt 1911 in 10 mm. The brass wouldn't even land in the same zip code! That sucker flung that brass nearly into orbit! Needed GPS to track it down. Usually found MAYBE half of it.

In your area there may be retail space from the Ordovician era called a "Radio Shack". They may have a cheap-o metal detector ($29.99) that will help solve your inter-dimentional brass quandry.
