OK guys, I'm in LV at 1600 Wed. I will get on THR for a head count by 1830 and beat feet to McM to reserve/set aside/procure a room/closet/cubicle. Sign up with a for sure/quite possibly/maybe and I'll post the results back here by 2300 Wed night.

Two "for sure"
106rr & Mrs 106rr
Should arrive in LV Wednesday night

when you make reservations, make it under The High Road, so if the time changes by Friday we can call the pub and find out the correct time, and day if that changes also. I'm driving this afternoon to Vegas, and should be there sometime late tonight or early tomorrow. No laptop to take with me to check on any changes in the time/day.

Thanks for doing this.

Sorry to get to the thread late! The Irish place sounds fine if it's a done deal, I'm there.

BUT, let me share a bit of wisdom I picked up at a reunion in LV last year. Buffets can handle large groups with ease. Restaurants freak out when they get a group of 30, they watch you like a hawk, and are afraid you are going to tie up valuable table space all night yakking. They kind of pressure you to finish up and move out.

LV buffets don't even BLINK for 30 guests in a party. You pay in advance, so the single check nightmare/getting stiffed is completely avoided. You can stay for as long as the buffet is open, they don't care. And, you can push tables together anyway you like.

I attended a reunion for about 75 folks at the Harrah's buffet, it was ideal. The staff didn't mind, they loved us. We pushed together our tables into our own little clans the way we wanted to, we weren't jammed into a little room. There was no time pressure, and we could "graze" on the buffet lines for hours and hours....and we did! Talk, eat, schmooze, ogle, talk, eat talk joke laugh etc.

And no bill to divvy up at the end.

Dammit Bracken, where were you when the screen was green...We were just at the pub in question, good food, great beer, they are expecting us so start showing up around 7:30. Ask for the THR get together. There are several "backrooms" and the lady said we could have one of them....I figured 25-30 people.

It was good to see all the high roaders at McMullen's on Friday. I enjoyed meeting all of you.
And they were right: you can walk for miles each day to see the stuff on display. it was great.

funny moment of the show (besides the two talking deer at one of the booths): I was talking to one of the guys at a knife display, and he said someone had shown him a challenge coin. One one said it said "black ops", and at this he had rolled his eyes wondering what bull was on the other side. and when he turned it over, it simply said "I was never there".

Had a great time talking to the folks I managed to talk to. :) Missed a few folks because we came in late and ended up at a nearby table. Looking forward to seeing pics ...

I'm the one in the black hat (and if that first picture of me making the weird face were to disappear, I wouldn't cry!).

My husband, Bob, is sitting across the table from me. And next to him was a very pleasant gentleman, a patent attorney -- but I'll let him introduce himself.

The location was fine, especialy considering that two guys from Maryland had to fly in and set up on short notice. Many thanks to jrhines and son Chris. The food was OK, I wouldn't order the Corned Beef and Cabbage again. I'll bet the sandwiches and burgers are great. I was easy to find, easy to park and easy to pay. The company was good and the ice tea was cold.

I had a great time at the show and at dinner. I'm the brown haired youth in the maroon shirt (Nathan Sultze). I still can't get over introducing myself via online screen name.

Good pix Tara, thanks! I'm in the second set, far right picture, nearly bald in the red shirt(model 649), sitting next to Matt (Travis McGee). Cool to see all the people I met at the show the next day and recognize them. The gathering was well worth the walk and thanks again, Matt for the ride back.
See you all in Orlando?
Josh
