Shotgun adapters?

From the Dina Arms site:
".44 MAG (20 GA, 16 GA, or 12 GA) Shotgun Conversion Adaptor. Allows shotguns to fire either rimfire or centerfire ammunition. Machined from high-tolerance 2011 aluminum with 6-groove rifling. No gunsmithing required. Simply insert the loaded adaptor into the shotgun barrel chamber."

Can't imagine the rifling would have a long lifespan, either...

I'm not a gunsmith, metallurgist or scientist and maybe I'm a complete idiot with too much Internet expertise but I'm not buying anything like this made of aluminum. Perhaps that's why everyone else is sold out and these folks are in stock.

They do work; some better than others. I knew a guy who had a set made for his 12 ga, BSS Sporter in .45-70. They were close to $200 each years ago. They guaranteed 5" Group to point of aim at 100 yards. He got 4" and 3-1/2". The tubes are labelled for each barrel and have a witness mark so they must be clocked on installation. He killed a deer with it every year and one year he went buffalo hunting and killed one. I have never seen another set like those. I think it was done in Kansas.

I had a section of barrel left over from a project that I turned to fit one of my Savage 24’s and chambered for 357 mag. It works and accuracy is neither superb or horrible. The gun already being .22/20ga with sights that are well regulated for both .22’s and slugs (on that one, my other 24’s not as well), I haven’t found a lot of used for it but at least I kept it out of the scrap bin.

I have a couple of the old Savage “Fourtenners”....one for 12 gauge an another for 20 gauge. They fit securely and they do work.
I have had a set of Short Lane adapters for a few years. They are all six inchers. The cartridge span is .22 to .44. Some are more accurate than others.
Remember.....these are for short range use. They are backups for the day when you can’t find any ammo.
My son has two 45-70 18” adaptors for a 12 gauge. He got them from MCACE in Anchorage, AK. He has taken wild boar with them.
