I cant find any laws on keeping a shotgun in my car in the state of ohio. I would like to keep it loaded but if you can find any laws pertaining to carrying a shotgun in your car it would be helpful.

csmkersh, what are you trying to say? Crack and guns go hand-in-hand. From what I've seen at various ranges, you can't be a respected shooter without it.

crackhead, shotgun and rifle vehicle transport in Ohio is limited to a firearm that is unloaded and in plain view with its action open.Licensed carry in Ohio does not apply to long guns.
The firearm may also be secured in a gun rack that is visible from outside the vehicle or in a closed commercial gun case.
Unloaded in the trunk is also OK.
Ohio law defines a firearm as being "loaded" if ammo is "ready at hand."A loaded detachable mag ,even if not inserted into a firearm could make the nearest firearm qualify as a "loaded weapon''.
Such mags should only be carried in the trunk or an inaccessible compartment away from any guns.
That was easy,right?:D
Buckeye's or other folks please correct if any errors.

Hate to hi-jack the thread, but I felt it was the right place to ask. What is the law for long guns in vehicles in West Virginia?
