I recently was browsing Armslist for different guns in TX. I work in the oilfield and bounce around so I am able to make a FTF transaction were I to find something I liked.

The other day I found a Dan Wesson Valor LNIB $900 in Texas, Texas.....no city listed. HaHa. I know right? I contacted just to see if I found someone who didnt know what they had.

They have sent me back pictures and asked if I have an FFL I deal with.

I asked them what happened to the listing and where were they in Tx, bc I will be traveling across half the state soon and would like to see before purchase? They responded they took the listing down and said they were in Illinois and thats where the listing actually was, which is BS considering I was only searching the state of Texas listings.

I responded that yes I have an FFL I work with and what form of payment would they like?

I HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF SENDING ANY SORT OF MONEY OR PAYMENT!.

I am just curious as to what they are going to ask for.

I guess my real question is, should I TELL I sent what I'm guessing is going to be a postal money order to a vacant house, and then contact LE or ATF and let them know what I think is happening? I'm 99.99% sure this is a scam and just hate to let guys like this get away with this rookie bull<deleted> and take advantage of good, trusting people.

Advice?

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on this situation my self; any FFL dealers, LEO's, etc. want to weigh in here?

Life is too short to go looking for trouble... I'd guess that the folks who placed that ad aren't bad guys at all. Many years ago down here in Miami I saw an occasional ad in the Miami Herald for "auto sears" for AR's. I always figured that ad was placed by our local ATF.... I might be wrong but a career in law enforcement has made me pretty cynical...
